Saxophonist Nathan Hanson on tenor and soprano joins drummer Steve Hirsh for three spontaneously composed improvisations recorded in Sandstone, Minnesota, developing an intuitive dialogue of lyrical and fractured reed lines, shifting rhythmic momentum, texture, and silence as the two allow form to emerge entirely through attentive, moment-to-moment interaction.

On their sixth album, FEN — Otomo Yoshihide, Ryu Hankil, Yuen Chee Wai, and Yan Jun — present four 15-minute works originally devised for the 2018 Gwangju Biennale, combining guitar, electronics, Max/MSP, and field recordings through a blind process of cutting, rearranging, and chance-based assembly that turns separation, chance, and juxtaposition into the music's organizing principles.
