An apt title for the creatively mechanistic rhythms and electronic machinations of David Lee Myers' long-running project Arcane Device, in an album of ten succinct tracks of distinct cadence, pulse and encompassing electronics, described by Myers as "Analog rhythms, microtonal swarms, and feedback tonalities for pagan rituals on Monster Island."

Like passages through an electronic corridor, New York electronic artist David Lee Myers (Arcane Device) presents a series of "interludes"--long passages of rich electronic sound--and "intervals" of punctuated rhythms, described by Myers as: "In-between spaces for catching one's breath amid frigid landscapes, existential pauses, and mercurial pools of aboriginal pleadings."

A double album of experimental works and songs, virtual meetings curated by composer Dante Boon, recorded in the performer's individual cities as ensembles formed from musicians who have never met, including the Moscow duo The Same Ensemble of Sasha Elina and Kirill Shirokov, Amsterdamn's Seamus Cater's Tree Space, Berlin's Konzert Minimal, and sound artist Gabi Losoncy.

Following his collaborations with choreographers & dancers Marta Alstadsaeter and Kim-Jomi Fischer resulting in the performances & albums As Much As It Is Worth and Engel, Rutger Zuydervelt composed this work for their dance/circus performance Our Arms Grew Together about romantic relationships, developed around recordings from the daily lives of Alstadsaeter and Fischer.

Unique to the vast catalog of Rutger Zuydervelt, aka Machinefabriek, this album was developed with Zuydervelt original material and then remixed by Matt Wand, Nick Storring and Phil Maguire, presenting the original highly rhythmic electronics at the base of "Prisma", then 4 remixes: "Scarlett's Blood Bubbles"; "Tactile Debt"; "Thigh Slapping Without Tears"; and "Wheats Flats".

Two versions of the soundtrack to the Dutch movie BERG composed by Rutger Zuydervelt, the first rearranging the tracks to the piece to create a long-form work that maintains the meditative qualities of the movie; then an early score proposal and more active concept than the final work, developed with recordings of improvisations from cellist Peter Hollo.

French sound artist Karbe Dinel creates a complex work of sound that shifts through diverse moods and seamlessly dovetailed sections, using synthesizer and effects to create deep resonating tones and high pitched complements, mysterious grainy ambience, haunting chambers of drifting electronics; a mysterious and compelling journey in the electronic realm.

A rich and beautiful drone work from Stephen O'Malley recorded at EMS in Stockholm, the title translating to "East-West Summer", as the piece emulates an accommodating evening, electronic crickets introducing and then settling into a slowly rotating and absorbing combination of tones, the flickering crickets returning to fade out the sense of restful night.

Trumpet City is a 60 minute live-installation of 40 or more trumpets performing outdoors in a public space, first commissioned and presented by the Prasidialdepartement and the Musikpodium of the City of Zurich, these two realization are from recordings at 51st Street, in Manhattan, New York and at Meeker Avenue between Lorimer and Leonard Streets, in Brooklyn, New York.

Creating soundscapes from homemade instruments, Text-To-Speech, AI voices, lap steel guitar, found objects, field recording, &c., the duo of sound artists Sam Scranton from Chicago and Neil Quigley from Kilkenny, Ireland, present six unusually unfolding compositions of deceptively relaxed environments layered with mysterious elements and a sly sense of humor.

The followup to their album Oehoe, electroacoustic composer Rutger Zuydervelt (Machinefabriek) developed this set of 10 tracks from improvised recordings on violin, viola and voice by Anne Bakker, creating a fascinating and succinct set of compositions through the deconstruction of her virtuosic playing and Zuydervelt's electronic additions.

Atlanta, GA sound artist Craig Lee Dempsey (US Prisms, Ben Trickey Full Band, The Weight, Thoroughbred) issues his first fully solo album of ambient drones developed from guitar and synthesizer sources, with rich implied rhythmic pulses that slowly evolve through the six pieces on this cassette & download release, all six pieces adding up to 22 minutes of sound.

The ever-prolific Dutch sound artist Michel Banabila collects 11 singles, working solo and in collaborations featuring Alex Haas, Bill Laswell, Cengiz Arslanpay, Jeff Greinke, Ümlaut, Salar Asid, Robert jarvis, Maarten Vos, and Gareth Davis, demonstrating Banabila's diverse and sophisticated approaches to sound work, and his versatility in a variety of settings.

A followup to The Latest Research From The Department Of Electrical Engineering, Dutch experimental sound artist Michel Banabila shows his most explorative side through eleven compositions using electronics, found sounds, field recordings, synthetics and acousmatic sources, a wonderfully inspired set of contructions that float like machines in a dream.

Microtonal composer Kraig Grady in a work for specially adapted brass instruments (Kris Tiner, trumpets; Subhraag Singh-saxophones; Emmett Kim Narushima-trombones) and organ (Terumi Narushima) using a the Meta-Slendro tuning, an obscure 17-tone scale, to create an expansive and organic work assembled from recordings of each musician playing meditations on single notes.

Two side-long compositions from audio explorer Jeph Jerman, assembled using recordings of objects including "mouth, stone, wood, glass, metal, paper, plastic, radio" plus field recordings made through the spring and summer of 2020 in and around Cottonwood, AZ, joined with audio contributions from Doug Theriault, Chris Reider, Julie Schubert, &c.

The fifth in bassist, guitarist and Kadima label-leader JC Jones "Distance Series", works assembled through virtual sessions with associated artists, Jones performing on Spanish guitar which he plays as a lap guitar, on Nucleous creating a set of five unusual vocal works with internationally reknown vocalists Meira Asher, Esti Kenan-Ofri, Anat Pick and Josef Sprinzak.

Sound experimenter and electroacoustic organizer Jason Kahn revisits previous works and expands on them with the book and CD release, with an essay on his approach towards public space interventions and text / sound installations, a track listing, photographs from the locations of his field recordings, and texts and prose poems to accompany the listener.

Stymied by Covid-19, the planned May 2020 tour of sound artists Tim Olive and Phil Maguire was cancelled, motivating each to create four 10-minute solo pieces which were then overlayed to create four "distant duo" pieces, merging Olive's textured home-made electronics and Maguire's reductive approach to audio simplicity and spare sonic environments.

Arcane Device, references the quote from metaphysics scholar Frithjof Schuon--"You must detach your life from an awareness of the multiple and reduce it to a geometrical point before God"--which he manifests in four focused works of rich, slowly evolving sound.
