Much of the material included in this collection was directly or indirectly inspired by the cypress swamp where the artist resides. A native of rural eastern North Carolina, he takes cues from the unbinding circumstances of nature such as the turbulent uncertainty of wind or the uncompromising patina of human habitation lying unapologetically in wasteland watersheds.
