Berlin-based multidisciplinary artist Uygur Vural was born in Antalya. He is currently working as a freelance instructor, cello performer, composer, technical/academic advisor and responsible for international art organizations in Berlin.

Uygur Vural majored in Music in Antalya Anatolian Fine Arts High School then studied Cello and Composition at İstanbul Bilgi University. In the year of 2010, he received his Master of Fine Arts degree in Visual Communication Design. During his studies, he was lucky enough to work with pioneers of Turkish Jazz/Modern Music scene. Ricky Ford, Donovan Mixon, Jeff MacAuley, Ali Perret, Can Kozlu, Kurşat And were among the names whom he worked with.

Since the beginning of his musical journey, Uygur Vural has been performing with many musicians from different musical genders, stages, and countries such as Ricky Ford, Jeff McAuley, Jürg Solothurnman, Korhan Erel, Axel Dorner, Elisabetta Lanfredini and many others. He is currently making a musical collaboration with Italian Singer/Improviser Elisabetta Lanfredini since April 2013. They are creating projects with a wide range of improvisation-based musical and conceptual repertory in a diversity of languages, from lullabies to Italian/Turkish political/traditional songs. This duo's first project "Gezi Resistance on the Road" was performed for the first time in "Teatro Valle" Rome on July 2013.

Uygur has been working and researching about experimental performance techniques and non-classical (Classical Western Music) forms of cello, using them in his improvisation performances. His music interacts with many different musical styles such as Free Improvise, Classical Ottoman/Indian/Arabic and European Contemporary music, jazz etc. It is often possible to hear the influences from a very rich background of Anatolian musical and cultural richness through his music.

Besides his music career, Uygur Vural also worked as a Research Assistant (2007-2010) and Instructor (Audio, Contemporary Art) (2008-2011) at the Department of Film and Television at İstanbul Bilgi University."

Lisbon, Portugal based cellist Miguel Ivo Cruz is a member of the groups String Theory, Variable Geometry Orchestra. He works at the Conservatório Nacional Escola Artística de Música.

"My name is Bernardo Alvares, I was born in 1989 and I live in Lisboa. I originally came to Lisboa to study. First I took an BSc in African Studies in FLUL (University of Lisbon) while studying jazz doublebass in Hot Clube de Lisboa. Soon I grew tired of conventional jazz and became part of the free improvisation movement. Later I continued my studies with an MSc in Urban Studies in ISCTE-IUL (Lisbon University Institute) and FCSH-UNL (New University of Lisbon) and wrote a master thesis about the relations between precariousness and counterculture in the contemporary city. As a musician I've been developing mostly doublebass and electric bass in languages such as free improvisation, free jazz, rock, noise, drone and hip-hop. I have allready worked with musicians such as Alan Courtis, Carla Bozulich, Helena Espvall, Paulo Raposo, Ernesto Rodrigues, Maresuke Okamoto, McCloud Zicmuse, Roland Ramanan, Mário Babrem, LBC Soldjah, Hezbó MC or Ondness. My most consistent musical projects includes Zarabatana, Alforjs and Luís Severo but I was also been a part of the doublebasses drone duo ABBA, the free-punk band dUASsEMIcOLCHEIASiNVERTIDAS, the Cornelius Cardew inspired anarchist ensemble Tratado de Cardew, the free-improv trio Chaparreiro/Álvares/Morão, the spokenword band Tapete, the William Burroughs inspired noisy duo S for Seward and several other ad-hoc formations. I've also worked with other artists such as Flora Detraz and Elizabete Francisca (dance/performance), Stéphane Blumi (video), Nacho Durán (multimedia), Paula Alonso (actress), Manuel Badás (dancer), Yaw Tembe (plastic arts), or Cristina Delius (tapdancing). I've also made sound instalations for the exhibitions "Partida, Largada, Fugida" from Mariana Marques and "Zones d'habilité" from Aude Barrio and Barbara Meuli. I've gave workshops of improvised music in Portugal, in CACAU (São Tomé, São Tomé e Príncipe) and Paraiso LC (Oviedo, Spain). I've been working with Alan Courtis on a music project with Out.Ra and Associação Nós, an association in Barreiro, Portugal, for the inclusion of people with mental diversity. This group debuted live in March 2016 and continued in 2017, although we're looking for a way to fund it. I curated Leitmotiv, which was a music and publications monthly cycle where musicians interpret graphic scores made purposely for this cycle hosted by Zaratan Gallery. Music related, I'm also a DJ, a producer and occasional sound technician. I've also made regular music critics to jazz.pt magazine between 2013 and 2015 and was part of the associations Pantalassa and Associação Terapêutica do Ruído."

Luísa Gonçalves Lisbon, Portugal is a musician, pianist, & composer. She holds a superior degree in classical piano performance ESMAE, and works frequently with other musicians and performing arts.

"Abdul Moimême was born in Lisbon, in 1959, moving at an early age to New Mexico and later to Dublin, Ireland. He began studying the guitar at the age of 11, studying under various private teachers, in Madrid, Spain.

In 1979 he moved to Boston to study architecture, finally completing his degree at the University of Lisbon.

In the 90's he began studying the tenor saxophone with Patrick Brennan. In this period he became actively involved with Lisbon's improvised and alternative rock scenes, performing frequently with the Variable Geometry Orchestra since it's creation in 2003, as well as with various other local projects.

His main musical partners are from Lisbon and Porto, but he has also performed in public concerts with such artists as Gale Brand, George Haslam, Jon Raskin, Ken Filiano, Patrick Brennan, Steve Adams, and Wade Matthews.

In 1999 he started writing about jazz in various Portuguese publications and is currently a permanent collaborator of Jazz.pt magazine, and Publico newspaper, as a critic.

In 2006 he created Freemusic (http://freemusic.podomatic.com), a space exclusively dedicated to the promotion of Portuguese improvised music."

Pedro Frazao is a Portuguese euphonium player, a member of ikb, and Isotope Ensemble.

"José Miguel Batista Canada, from Machico, Madeira, Portugal, was born on May 9, 1997.

In 2008 he began his musical studies in the Banda Municipal de Machico, in Tuba.

In 2010 he joined the Basic Professional Instrumental Course in the Tuba and Euphonium class of Professor Fabien Filipe at the Conservatory - Professional School of the Arts of Madeira.

In 2011 he participated in the Classical Orchestra of Madeira.

He has participated in five consecutive years (2012-2016), at the OJ.COM Orchestra Stage, which took place in the cities of Aveiro, Braga, Lisbon, Azores and Porto.

In 2015 he participated in the International Forum of Musical Interpretation and Pedagogy, where he obtained the 1st place in the category of soloist. In that same year also participated in the X edition of the International Contest of Wind Instruments "Terras de La Salette", where it obtained the 1st place.

In the year of 2016 participated in the program ERASMUS + "Music Without Frontiers" in the city of Lahti in Finland. He also completed the recording of a CD with works of his own of children's songs. He finished the Professional Instrumentalist Course at the Conservatory - Professional School of the Arts of Madeira, finishing with a maximum grade (20 points) in the final recital. In the same year he starts his graduation in Tuba at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa in the Tuba and Euphonium class of Professor Adélio Carneiro. In 2017 he participated in the XII edition of the International Contest of Wind Instruments "Terras de La Salette", where he obtained the 2nd place. He recently reached the 1st Prize in the Prémio no Concurso Prémio Jovens Músicos, promoted by Antena 2 in the category of Tuba in solo instrumentalist, having the opportunity to play solo with the Gulbenkian Orchestra in Lisbon."

"Born in Lisbon in 1979, pianist, composer and improviser Joana Sá works in the field of new music/contemporary classical music. She is currently enrolled in a doctoral program in music (performance) at the University of Aveiro, as an FCT (Fundação para Ciência e Tecnologia) fellow. She holds an undergraduate degree in piano, having studied under Caio Pagano and Paulo Álvares, in Lisbon, Paris, Castelo Branco and Köln. She received an INOV-ART grant in 2009 and, in 2010, was distinguished with a honourable mention from the Ernesto de Sousa Scholarship program.

Joana Sá is particularly interested in incorporating other means and artistic areas in her works. Her first solo work, through this looking glass, shot by filmmaker and cinematographer Daniel Costa Neves, was released as a dvd+cd by the German label blinker - Marke für Rezentes in 2011. Her current work, IN PRAISE OF DISORDER, integrating texts by Gonçalo M. Tavares as read by Rosinda Tavares, was just released by Shhpuma, an imprint of Clean Feed Records.

"Studied painting with António Sena (Ar.Co, 1988 -1992), worked in advertising for a period of time, but nowadays works as graphic designer in corporate identity, packaging, web and audio-video production.
