"L'Ocell is the duo project of Alex Reviriego (double bass) and Fernando Carrasco (acoustic guitar), since 2015. El Declivi, their third release, was recorded featuring Ferran Fages on electric guitar in an old church in Mianigues, a small town in the province of Girona (Catalonia), after a period of collaboration as a trio in which they performed several concerts.
Their free improvised music shapes cathartic and primitive drones and soundscapes. Dark beauty passages, with psych folk and early music reminiscences, are interfered and disrupted by unexpected apparitions of metallic noises, chaotic percussions and amorphous noises. The oases of harmonies degrade and collapse as a construction abandoned at the mercy of the relentless effects of time and nature.
The three musicians involved on this recording know each other well due to being part of Barcelona's improvised and weird music scene, and have played together on other projects such as Phicus and Radium, where Reviriego and Fages collaborate. Carrasco and Reviriego, in addition to L'Ocell, were part of Volga and have performed live together in many different ensembles and contexts."-Tripticks Tapes

• Show Bio for Fernando Carrasco Fernando Carrasco is a Chilean musician performing on quena & guitar. Born 1953, he started in the group "Huamarí", and was a member of "Barroco Andino" from 1974 to 1977. Later he joined "Duo Coirón". In 2009 he joined "Quilapayún". Carrasco studied at la Facultad de Artes de la Universidad de Chile, where he studied with prestigious academics including Cirilo Vila, Juan Amenábar, Miguel Letelier, Andrés Alcalde y Rolando Cori. Since the end of the 1990s, he has published over fifty discographic references on national and international labels. He has undertaken tours, performed concerts and led workshops around Europe and South America as well as in Canada and Japan. He plays guitar, resonant objects, acoustic turntable and electronics: "feedback mixing board", pick-ups and oscillators. From 1999 until 2006 he was a member of the IBA col·lectiu d'improvisació, with whom he organised over one hundred concerts as well as the festivals Improvisa (2000-2003) and the Experimental Music Week at Metrònom (2005), among others. Besides his projects, he has shared a stage and made collaborations with musicians such as Christine Abdelnour, Sophie Agnel, Núria Andorrà, Derek Bailey, Pascal Battus, Tom Chant, David Chiesa, Albert Cirera, Sébastien Cirotteau, Angharad Davies, Rhodri Davies, Michel Doneda, Axel Dörner, Lluïsa Espigolé, Agustí Fernández, Jean-Philippe Gross, Will Guthrie, Robin Hayward, Barbara Held, Jason Kahn, Martin Küchen,Eduard Márquez, Wade Matthews, Mattin, Manuel Mota, Ivan Palacky, Ramon Prats, Eddie Prévost, Pablo Rega, Àlex Reviriego, Ernesto Rodrigues, Alejandro Rojas-Marcos, Ivo Sans, Joan Saura, Pilar Subirà, Vasco Trilla, Birgit Ulher, Taku Unami, Nikos Velliotis, Dafne Vicente-Sandoval, Mark Wastell, Christopher Williams and Ingar Zach among others.
