Artist Biographies

Ricardo Guerra Pires is a Portuguese electric guitarist and improviser based in Portugal. He forms one half of the experimental duo Le Vice Anglais, collaborating with saxophonist Bruno Parrinha. In 2025 they released vas‑y on 4DaRecord, recorded in Portugal in 2023-24; the album blends noise-tinged guitar, subtle electronics, and powerful sax in what critics have called "pure sonic magic... the punk vortex of the future".

A regular featured performer on Jam Sessions Portugal, Guerra Pires is also active in the country's free-improv community, appearing at events across Lisbon, Porto, and more. His intense, noise-infused voice on electric guitar marks him as a compelling figure in contemporary European improvisation.
