Artist Biographies

"Improvisor, guitar-s player, composer, Andrea Bazzicalupo has been active in the fields of modern jazz, improvised music and contemporary music since 2006.

A frenzy of play, in the purest and joyful sense, lead him to explore and get involved in an extensive range of musical idioms.

AB has played with several groups and projects all across Europe, performing in many and varied clubs, venues, festivals and alternative spaces.

Essentially self-taught and always seeking for multiform contexts, AB is on an itinerant voyage shaping up ideas, skills, and fashioning a plural kind of expression, encompassing a distinctive sonic sensibility and a strong physical approach.

With roots in alternative-rock, black music, free or contemporary music, he draws inspiration from all kinds of sound and life, and he loves to dedicate himself to a musical investigation that is as open and multifaceted as possible, using improvisation as a technology."
