The Montague, Massachusetts project Mephitick Ooze brings a bleakly immersive noise work to Love Earth Music with The Path of Congealment, a single long-form descent that moves less like a sequence of events than a mass of damaged sound slowly changing state. Across its forty-four minutes, the music holds to a brutally compressed world of distortion, rupture, grind and overloaded texture, as though amplified material were being stretched, torn and forced through a narrow mechanical aperture.

Despite its surface brutality, the album is not static. The piece advances at a glacial pace, shifting density, pressure and grain as the sound field opens in brief pockets of relief before closing again into a harsh, corroded continuum. Scraped frequencies, ripped electronic matter and buried movement accumulate into a form that feels both deliberate and punishing, asking the listener to follow subtle changes inside an environment that remains intentionally abrasive.

The Path of Congealment is difficult music by design, but its power lies in that refusal of ease: an extended act of sonic pressure in which distortion becomes structure, endurance becomes motion and the path forward emerges through the slow transformation of noise itself.
