Flöjter brings together Delphine Joussein and Mats Gustafsson in a ferociously focused flute duo, stripping the instrumentation down to breath, metal, electronics, friction, and force while expanding the instrument far beyond its expected chamber or pastoral associations.

Recorded live at Atlantique Jazz Festival in Brest, this first public performance from the duo captures Joussein on flute and electronics with Gustafsson on flute, slide flute, spilåpipa, harmonica, live electronics, and organ, creating a volatile field of amplified air columns, raw overtones, rhythmic pressure, and distorted melodic fragments. Rather than treating the flute as a delicate or decorative voice, the pair push it into zones of noise, groove, ritual intensity, contemporary music, free jazz, and extreme metal energy.

As a companion to the Paris recording released by Utech and Gigantonium, Brest Blow shows the duo in the charged immediacy of a first live encounter, where breath becomes percussion, electronics thicken the acoustic attack, and high-velocity interaction transforms two flutes into a dense, unruly, and surprisingly beautiful system of sound.
