Juice Machine
Yachats
(Love Earth Music)
Recorded across two seasons in coastal Oregon, Yachats showcases the late Heather Chessman and Roger Smith as Juice Machine, sculpting fragile, tape-based electro-acoustic collages that blend field recordings, loops, and discreet electronics into seven immersive vignettes — each a poetic meditation on place, memory, and sonic texture.
Chefkirk
Giant Size
(Love Earth Music)
Eight distinctive works for electronics and sound from the alter ego of Roger H. Smith, using noise, percussive elements and unusual synthetics, layered around static and arpeggiated rhythms and punctuated with strange asides, the works run from 3:14 to 18:37 and were developed over a year and half; an excellent introduction to the sonic diversity Chefkirk revels in.
Juice Machine
Broken And Dilapidated
(Love Earth Music)
An apt description for the layers of sonic decay and deteriorated sounds, loops and errata that underpin each of the five tracks on this elusively restrained noise album, Juice Machine, aka Roger H. Smith (Chefkirk) and Heather Chessman, use mangled field recordings and concrete elements of blurred looping structures and aberrant interjection, each unique work a fascinating curiosity.
Meirino, Francisco / Jerome Noetinger
Drainage, In Six Parts
(Klanggalerie )
Recording in Switzerland at La Becque Residency Center, the experimental improvising duo of Francisco Meirino on synth & field recording and Jerome Noetinger using electronics, tape, reel to reel player & radio, create a 6-part series of unusual sonic interactions, patiently exposing unidentifiable sounds and synthetic punctuation, neither subtle nor explosive but wonderfully engaging.
Wachsmann, Phillip
Chathuna
(Bead)
Recordings from a unique concert at the Synagogue in Oerlinghausen, Germany in 1996 between long-term collaborators Philipp Wachsmann and artist Sarah Brigitte Eckel, Wachsmann improvising in the resonance of the synagogue on violin, viola, electronics & tape in response to Eckel's exhibition extemporizing five canvas painting and a floor installation.

Vending Machine
(thanatosis produktion)

Brighton, Ian
Marsh Gas [REISSUE]
(FMR)
Reissuing the 1977 album from UK guitarist Ian Brighton, written as an instrumental story for children, apparently very sophisticated children, in a mix of composed and freely improvised passages, using non-idiomatic approaches with unusual and extended techniques, open atmospheric passages and strange transitions, a peculiar and wonderful album of imaginative playing.
Castello, Angelica / Jerome Noetinger
Disturbio
(Mikroton Recordings)
A study on vibrating surfaces in an album of active environments in the debut album from the duo of Angelica Castello and Jerome Noetinger, both using tapes, samples, loops, radios and electronics, with Noetinger on revox and Castello on Paetzold flute, presenting seven staggering and awe-inspiring works, each wild canvases of sound from atmospheric to tectonic.
Chesterfield (Burkhard Stangl / Angelica Castello)
Consuelo
(Mikroton Recordings)
