Steve Noble creates glittering bell and gong like tones over which Daniel Thompson hangs fractured harmonics and strange bending chords, moving to a more frenetic interplay between what is essentially a percussive guitarist and a melodic percussionist. Steve Noble studied with Nigeria master drummer Elkan Ogunde and in the early 1980s was a member of Rip Rig and Panic, touring extensively throughout Europe and England. Since then he has worked in a variety of musical contexts but has been extensively involved in improvised music through work with a wide range of musicians. These include: Derek Bailey's Company: Noble was involved in Company Weeks in 1987, 1989 and 1990, appeared with them at the Thessalonika Jazz Festival in 1985 and participated in a Company tour of Switzerland and Italy in 1987. He was also featured in the television series based on Derek Bailey's book, Improvisation, it's nature and practice in music, shown on UK Channel 4 in 1992. a long-standing working relationships with reed and guitar player Alex Ward and with pianist Alex Maguire trios with Davey William and Oren Marshall and with Oren Marshall and Steve Buckley and 'And' with Derek Bailey and Pat Thomas the 4tet with Pat Thomas, John Edwards and John Telfer Tim Hill's Pandaemonium Brass Band and Trio Lol Coxhill's Standard Conversions Tristan Honsinger's This, That and the Other Hans Koch/Jacques Dermierre Project Hans Burgner's Ki-Project Steve Noble has regularly collaborated with The Bow Gamelan Ensemble (performance artist /musician Paul Burwell), with David Lester's Kino Club, and with a range of dancers and dance groups including Katie Duck and Group O, Steve Paxton, Alessandro Certini, Julian Hamilton, Kirsty Simpson, and Mal Pelo. He has composed original music for Alessandro Certini's Verso madre del turco (1988), Monserrat Llabres' L'hombre del'ocelot (1991), and Mal Pelo's Cancion por las pajaros (1993), Cancion per Bernabé (1997), and Orache (1998). "Daniel was born in Norfolk, England and since 2005 currently resides in hackney, london, other than a couple of years playing violin as a child, his musical studies didn't seriously begin until his late teens.

Largely self-taught, after moving to London in 2005 Daniel embarked upon a life changing period. He studied with the guitarist John Russell for two years, "which provided me with one of the richest and most rewarding musical experiences of my life" and Daniel also spent many evenings listening to the trio of John Edwards, Tony Marsh and Evan Parker at The Vortex in East London who "collectively confirmed my musical direction".

daniel is A part of the fertile London improvising music scene and has also played at many other venues across the UK and Europe. As well as being a musician Daniel has been organising concerts since 2007 and currently curates the monthly 'Foley Street improvised music concert series' which takes place in the warm and intimate space above a pub in London's west end.

As well as performing solo and with other musicians in many ad-hoc improvising situations Daniel also performs in long-term collaborations or "working groups".

Recent collaborations (both ad-hoc and long-term) have seen Daniel performing and or recording with Neil Metcalfe, Steve Noble, Evan Parker, Caroline Kraabel,Tom Jackson, Hannah Marshall, Adam Bohman, Alex Ward, Kay Grant, Mark Sanders, John Edwards, Benedict Taylor, Lauri Hyvärinen, Roland Ramanan, Simon Rose, Adrian Northover, Marcello Magliocchi, Javier Carmona, anton mobin, Guillaume Viltard and The London Improvisers Orchestra amongst many others.
