Descriptions, Reviews, &c.

"Alalie is a ten track album of improvised music played on the hardenger fiddle and recorded at Cosmo: an apse in Giudecca in Venice with very lively acoustics. The work dwells on the sensation of alalie: the feeling of loss of words, thoughts and memories leading to an inability to interact with a certain environment. The album is an exploration of the feeling of alalie with my Sicilian and Norwegian home countries and playing with this sense of detachment. The music takes inspiration from the popular songs of those lands, without pretending to make them mine. The songs interact, like the smell of snow and figs melt together in one undefinable scent."-Notes by Agnese Amico - Padua - 2022

"Agnese Amico is a Sicilian-Norwegian violinist based in Padova who juxtaposes the classical repertoire and work in orchestras and ensembles with the realm of improvisation in various formations as well as activities with Quartetto Obliquo, a contemporary string quartet. She is also educated in urban studies, and the interaction between sound and space is an element of her work. She is involved with spatial realm of sound through Maaterials, a magazine telling about the materials that compose the city. She plays the hardangerfele since 2020."-zOaR
