"August Traeger may be known to some through his label Bicephalic Records, or his projects Somnaphon, Nipple Stools, and Food World. His work is overtly electronic; often software and glitch-based. His pieces are full of sounds pulverized beyond recognition and reorganized to form wobbling tonal-rhythmic riddles. His pieces here cover a wider-than-average range of electronic territory, consisting of minimal analog synth melodies warbling in verby haze, sharp soft-synths and hypnotic arrhythmic glitchworks. Odd Person music is not merely a hobbling digital-fetish cacophony, though. There is a specific flavor of tonal and melodic logic among his obtuse musical forms which stimulates like caffeine and fine reading materials. Some people have said Odd Person music makes you smarter when you listen to it.
Miguel A. Garcia is a sound artist based in the Basque country of Spain. To describe his audio work, some words from his bio say it best: ÒHe uses sounds taken from electronic devices residues, often interrelated with field recordings or acoustic instruments, in the search of an intimate, intense and immersive experience.Ó Miguel has worked in the past with August Traeger (notably on Pixel Hexing, a DVD collection of experimental video works released on Bicephalic Records), and works in similar territory with digital destruction and reconstruction of sound from varied sources. Garcia creates cinematic noise-sculptures in time through his wise usage of dynamics, timing and treatments. The pieces included here are in flavors of white and pink digital / overload, rumblings, and other textures sculpted by careful direct-signal manipulations."
"The noosphere (/ no . sf r/; sometimes nošsphere) is the sphere of human thought. The word derives from the Greek (nous "mind") and (sphaira "sphere"), in lexical analogy to "atmosphere" and "biosphere". It was introduced by Pierre Teilhard de Chardin in 1922 in his Cosmogenesis. Another possibility is the first use of the term by ƒdouard Le Roy (1870Ð1954), who together with Teilhard was listening to lectures of Vladimir Ivanovich Vernadsky at the Sorbonne. In 1936, Vernadsky accepted the idea of the noosphere in a letter to Boris Leonidovich Lichkov (though he states that the concept derives from Le Roy). Citing the work of Teilhard's biographerÑRene CuenotÑSampson and Pitt stated that although the concept was jointly developed by all three men (Vernadsky, LeRoy, and Teilhard), Teilhard believed that he actually invented the word: "I believe, so far as one can ever tell, that the word 'noosphere' was my invention: but it was he [Le Roy] who launched it.""

Artist Biographies
• Show Bio for August Traeger August Traeger is a sound & video artist from the USA. He runs the Bicephalic Records label, and is known for his websites somnaphon.net, bicephalic.net. He performs under the aliases Odd Person, Phlimm, Somnaphon, and has been a member of the groups Flower Mountain, Food World, Nipple Stools, Pony Gropers. ^ Hide Bio for August Traeger • Show Bio for Miguel A. Garcia "Miguel A. García has been active for over two decades and with a discography that exceeds ten albums (presenting which he has toured Europe, America and Asia, performing at no less than the Issue Project Room in New York, the National Arts Centre in Mexico City, the Ftarri in Tokyo, the DOM Cultural Center in Moscow, the Église Saint-Merry in Paris or the National Auditorium of Music in Madrid), is a reference in experimental music and sound art, both for his work as a composer and for his career in the electroacoustic improvisation scene. During his career, the artist from Bilbao has collaborated with names such as Fernando Carvalho, Francisco López, Francisco Meirino, Ibon RG, Jean-Luc Guionnet, Juan Carlos Blancas or Seijiro Murayama, as well as curating events and festivals such as the Zarata Fest, the Hotsetan at Azkuna Zentroa or the legendary and extinct Club Le Larraskito. An immaculate career, in short, to which this work before us is now added. A double album with which the Basque artist has managed to lucidly convey the vital moment in which he finds himself and give shape to this timeless and genuinely avant-garde artistic artefact, called "Littentula". Like a modern Prometheus but using as raw material the documentation of his own capture processes (both for timbre synthesis and for composition), in this new album García signs an intimate and attractive invitation to sublimation, through pieces that are abstract by nature and that display a brutal sensitivity. A stimulating challenge, which has been orchestrated with musician friends of the stature of Garazi Gorostiaga, Enrike Hurtado and Garazi Navas in mind, who have turned his scores into a major work that transcends genres and is divided into two twin volumes, united by a new artificial beauty conceived from the genes of the old world. In the first album of "Littentula", García acts as the creator of an authentic sound stage, where the transmuted organic takes us back to the cycle of regeneration of nature. The four tracks that make up the album are developed from an intriguing metric of the beats, which manages to stimulate and expand our perception of the hidden face of the apparent. In the second, this pre-conscious logic ends up deriving into a kind of slow motion convulsion, a deafened, veiled, latent and strangely intense spasm, through which we come to intuit that the dawn and the dusk are manifested in the object of creation. A beautiful game of mirrors, with which Miguel A. García presents before us the most essential intrinsic double opposite: Life." ^ Hide Bio for Miguel A. Garcia
