""* This musical adventure arises from the conviction that Expression, Composition and the expression of the composition are the nourishment of the artistic identity.

* Expression is a pervasiveness of ineluctable art. It's, in itself, a will, a uniqueness of style. Pursuing the potential of the sounds, the expressive communication, is, in this case, the proposal.

* The relation between the figures and between these and their context is, in such case, the definition of the idea of Composition; nevertheless, in this path, its primary interdisciplinary inception, which has devised Architectonic treaties, and regulated ancestral guides of the Arts, absorbing mathematical certainties in their paramount connections, exemplified by dimension, position and proportion, is also considered. Given the premise of that universal genetic character of the underpinnings of the Arts, a natural transference of the visual thought to sound design takes place. And symmetry, interpenetration, tripartition, adjacency, etc., would be the preamble of that interdisciplinarity. This idea has defined the boundaries of this composition. The Premeditation of a writing, which doesn't exclude the Gregorian, but doesn't impose it, encompasses, on the contrary, extended techniques and others from the very rich lineup of experimental music and from the most diversecontemporary aesthetic lines, admitting only the limits of ignorance and adding the limitless possibilities of free invention.

* It is, thus, a musical creation that, at the very least, engages audition and vision and an implicit summoning of the psychology of perception and of the sensory system. Fact is, in the search for an object, all the circumstances described lead to the topic of the description of reality. A musical configuration of Figurative Expressionism, common in Visual Arts, but less explored in the context of music. The simulation through expressive equivalence rather than impressive information has fulfilled the role of driving force in this experience.

This idea has been a concern of mine for a long time! It entailed several attempts, made with persistence and conviction, in a process that has, in this score, in this interpretation, with this trio, its moment of recording on cd, because it was an already consistent approach in this ongoing stroll, and I'm very grateful to Yedo and Felice, incredible musicians I'm very proud of having had by my side. But I cannot forget the journey made before, by the magnificent Gabriel Ferrandini, Bruno Parrinha and Rodrigo Pinheiro, and, more recently, by the musicians Carlos Mascolo, Domenico Saccente and Angelo Manicone. With all of them I amassed concerts, recordings, nourishment for this cd."-Miguel Mira

"My story is quite simple, I was living in São Paulo (Brazil) a big city with 21.000.000 people and a incredible concrete jungle and it happen to be playing music too, after many years playing Brazilian music, free improvisation started to take place in my music.

Waking up and sleeping with this constant noise that this huge city makes it was inevitable to not have it on my music. As any 3rd world citizen I had to improvise every day and that is what happen to my "forró" (Brasilian music from the north east), became more and more full of noises and freer in the form and content.

So in 2005 after recording "Abaetetuba" and "Contra Mão" I thought that it was time to leave São Paulo and meet some other improvisers around the world. Now I am based in Amsterdam but have been for two years in London where I spent most of my time making music with some amazing musicians as Marcio Mattos, Veryan Weston, John Edwards, Steve Noble, Mark Sanders and also was part of the London Improvisers Orchestra together with Lol Coxhill and Evan Parker between other great musicians from the London free improv scene, that was to me a great school.

This orchestra has inspired me to start the Royal Improvisers Orchestra (RIO) in Holland and it has been playing since 2006, with 20 musicians from all over the world and from completely individual angels of music with musicians from Baroque to Punk Noise but with the same passion for the improvisation.

Here in Holland, beside my fix groups RIO, Caetitu, Abaetetuba and EkE, I have also been playing with some great musicians that I have learned a lot from as Han Bennink, Michael Vatcher, Luc Ex, Marcos Baggiani, Ab Baars, Cor Fuhler and other ZAAL100 (our free improv place in Amsterdam) friends."
