Artist Biographies

Nil by Nose (Brighton, UK) emerged from the experimental roots of the cabaret-pop outfit The Las Vegas Mermaids, evolving into a solo project characterized by intimate, lo-fi sound explorations. The creative force behind the project-described as a "lone bedroom knob twiddler" who occasionally performs live-has also contributed to several compilation albums on Pumf Records' Godspunk series.

Working primarily from a home studio environment, Nil by Nose crafts improvised, often ephemeral tracks-"quickly made almost disposable tunes" inspired by visual encounters, like graffiti on trains. This aesthetic recently led to the remix album Pictures On Trains Repainted, featuring reimagined versions of these compositions by a wide array of collaborators.

Each side of this LP from The Haters mastermind GX Jupitter-Larsen is a minimalistic noise work in the style of The Haters, built from loops and extraneous sounds, obscure and curious and each side ending with a giggle; you either need more of this kind of sonic opaqueness, or perhaps you too are a Hater.
