Indonesian experimental sound artist Theo Nugraha shares a split release with the long-running American noise project +DOG+, pairing two extended works that reflect very different histories within underground electronic and improvised sound. Nugraha contributes the 15-minute "Dokset," while +DOG+ answers with the similarly expansive "April," creating a compact two-part encounter between artists separated geographically but connected by a shared commitment to independent experimental practice.

Based in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, Nugraha has been active in Indonesia's experimental sound scene since 2013 and is regarded as an important early figure in the development of noise music in Samarinda. His remarkably prolific catalog spans noise, improvisation, sound art and collaborative work, often treating recording itself as a means of exchange between artists, scenes and countries. His wider activities as an organizer and producer have included involvement with Extended.Asia, Milisifilem Collective, the HEX Foundation and other platforms connecting experimental sound and visual artists.

+DOG+, meanwhile, traces its history back to Osaka in 1991 and has continued through subsequent periods in Massachusetts and California under Steve Davis, whose work also anchors the Love Earth Music label. Across decades of activity, +DOG+ has occupied a deliberately open area of noise and experimental electronics, emphasizing texture, sustained sound, abrasion and spontaneous construction.

Released by Love Earth Music, the split brings Nugraha's contemporary Indonesian experimental practice into direct proximity with one of the American underground's persistent independent noise projects, presenting two substantial pieces as complementary statements rather than a conventional collaboration.
