"Scores from 2019-2026 collected for the first time. Some fluxus-oriented activations, some detailed text works, many maps."-Editions Glomar
Composer, improviser, and intermedia artist and Mills College graduate Andrew Weathers builds work around place, duration, and repetition, often using field recording and psychogeographic approaches to turn listening into a method of navigating the world. He's also a long-time organiser and documenter of experimental music: he founded Full Spectrum Records in 2008, released 175 titles before closing the label in 2024, and now curates newer imprints including Editions Glomar.
This book gathers his text and graphic scores from 2019-2026 for the first time — ranging from Fluxus-oriented "activations" to more detailed text works and map-like pieces that function as instructions, invitations, and conceptual prompts as much as "compositions." (32 pages, perfect bound.) Rather than presenting fixed repertoire, Weathers offers a compact toolkit for performers, readers, and ensembles who like their music-making porous: open to site, circumstance, and the productive friction between intention and surprise.
Why read a scorebook like this? Because Weathers' practice treats notation as a living interface — something that can be realised through sound, action, attention, or collaboration. His background straddles composition and recording culture (including studies in electronic music and composition), so the writing tends to feel practical even when it's poetic: it points you toward doing something. If you're drawn to experimental notation, deep listening, free improv-adjacent practices, or simply want new ways to catalyse performance without defaulting to the usual cues, this is a sharp, portable entry point into Weathers' world.
