"Jason Adasiewicz was born in Wichita, Kansas in 1977, but raised in Crystal Lake, Illinois. He studied jazz drums at DePaul University for three years. He only eased into the vibraphone after leaving school, playing it in the indie-rock scene around Chicago with bands like Pinetop Seven and the singer-songwriter Edith Frost.

In the early 2000s he began his collaboration with cornetist Josh Berman and drummer Mike Reed. Since then he was worked in the Chicago jazz and improvisation scene with multiple bands, including Rob Mazurek's Starlicker and Exploding Star Orchestra, Mike Reed's Loose Assembly, Josh Berman and His Gang, Nicole Mitchell's Ice Crystal, James Falzone's Klang and Ken Vandermark's Topology and Audio One.

Adasiewicz formed his Chicago-based jazz quintet, Rolldown, in 2004, while living in Madison. In 2008 he founded the trio Sun Rooms, with Nate McBride and Mike Reed."

"Saxophonist, clarinetist, composer, and arranger Jonathan Doyle lives in Port Townsend WA in the Pacific Northwest. He still spends time in Chicago, Austin TX, and on the road.

Jonathan grew up and got his start in the Chicago area. In the mid-90s he left DePaul's School of Music to begin playing professionally, at first with the Mighty Blue Kings and then the Four Charms. He has also worked with Chicago's emerging improvisers such as Josh Berman, Jason Adasiewicz, Design Flaw, and Grey Around Green, and developed an interest in country blues and jug band music playing with the Wabash Jug Band. In 2004, Mr. Doyle moved to Austin to pursue his love of acoustic and roots music afresh. After a brief stint with the Asylum Street Spankers, he went on to freelance in Central Texas' vibrant traditional jazz, swing, and western swing scenes, playing with well-established acts such as Willie Nelson and Asleep at the Wheel, and the Jim Cullum Jazz Band, as well being a part of many fine local bands such as Thrift Set Orchestra, Albanie & her Fellas, Stan Smith and the Jazz Pharaohs, Aunt Ruby's Sweet Jazz Babies, East Side Dandies, White Ghost Shivers, Whit Smith's Hot Jazz Caravan, The Giant Three and his own projects The Jonathan Doyle Quintet / Swingtet. His time in New Orleans led to touring with the hot jazz and traditional blues band, Tuba Skinny. And his connection to Chicago led to playing with the amazing Fat Babies as well as guitar maestro, Joel Paterson. More recently he has started performing with Naomi & Her Handsome Devils, Hal Smith's Swing Central, The Brooks Prumo Orchestra, and the Casey MacGill Orchestra!

Jonathan is committed to crafting original music as well studying the American musical traditions. He strives to organize and be a part of bands whose music is rooted, yet distinct. And to play for listeners and dancers anywhere they'll have him!

Jonathan has had a career that has allowed him to perform professionally on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry, at Preservation Hall, on Austin City Limits TV show, at Jazz At Lincoln Center's Midsummer Night's Swing, in the famous Spiegeltent, at Chichen Itza, and major festivals such as Chicago Jazz Fest, Chicago Blues Fest, New Orleans Jazz Fest, French Quarter Festival in New Orleans, Detroit Jazz Fest, Umbria Jazz Fest, Port Ferry Folk Festival, WOMADelaide World Music Festival, Festival International in Lafayette. He's also busked on street corners from New Orleans and Mexico to Australia and Europe.

In 2021, his song "Sweet is the Night" (as recorded by The Fat Babies) was featured in the movie "Passing" based on the Nella Larsen novel of the same name--the movie was picked up by Netflix and you can watch it there ("Sweet is the Night" comes in at 48:38 and runs for the whole length of the song!)

He played on and toured to support the grammy nominated album "Willie and the Wheel" with Willie Nelson and Asleep At The Wheel.

Berman was named in the DownBeat critics' poll among Rising Stars, Trumpet. He has toured the United States, Canada, Europe, and Japan.

In 2009, Berman and his group Old Idea released their first full length CD/LP, Old Idea, on Delmark. Josh Berman and His Gang's There Now, also on Delmark Records, came out in 2012. And 2015 saw the release of Josh Berman Trio's A Dance and A Hop on Delmark. The albums have garnered critical acclaim in publications including The New York Times, DownBeat, Jazz Times, the Chicago Reader, and the Chicago Tribune."

"Hamid Drake (born August 3, 1955) is an American jazz drummer and percussionist. He lives in Chicago, IL but spends a great deal of time touring worldwide. By the close of the 1990s, Hamid Drake was widely regarded as one of the best percussionists in jazz and avant improvised music. Incorporating Afro-Cuban, Indian, and African percussion instruments and influence, in addition to using the standard trap set, Drake has collaborated extensively with top free-jazz improvisers. Drake also has performed world music; by the late 70s, he was a member of Foday Musa Suso's Mandingo Griot Society and has played reggae throughout his career.

Drake has worked with trumpeter Don Cherry, pianist Herbie Hancock, saxophonists Pharoah Sanders, Fred Anderson, Archie Shepp and David Murray and bassists Reggie Workman and William Parker (in a large number of lineups)

He studied drums extensively, including eastern and Caribbean styles. He frequently plays without sticks; using his hands to develop subtle commanding undertones. His tabla playing is notable for his subtlety and flair. Drake's questing nature and his interest in Caribbean percussion led to a deep involvement with reggae."
