"Rabbit Rabbit Radio is the song-spinning duo of Carla Kihlstedt and Matthias Bossi. Collectively, they are founding members of Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Tin Hat, 2 Foot Yard, Causing a Tiger, The Book of Knots, and Fred Frith's Cosa Brava. Drawing on their love of both art and folk song, industrial and improvised music and heart-wrenching balladry, their songs are raw, beautiful, sparse and rich.
Originally these songs came out on the duo's bandcamp page. Subscribers got new songs as soon as they were finished, later these were collected into album format. Rabbit Rabbit Radio Vol. 1 was released on CD in 2013 by the band themselves. Klanggalerie released volumes 2 and 3 in 2018 and are now happy to offer you Volume 4 - The Animal I Am.
The group's songs are a missing link between rock/pop and the avantgarde. Carla Kihlstedt says: "The songs I write sit on the border between popular music and art song. Where exactly, depends on the subject matter and on the language and strengths of the performers I'm working with. I've never worried that 'one kind' of audience won't understand the 'other kind' of song. Every listener has their own musical reference points, but I've always found people across the (hypothetical) divide to be incredibly open-minded and generous."-Klanggalerie

He is part of David Krakauer's Ancestral Groove project, which explores the heritage of traditional Jewish music through the lens of the modern experience fusing Klezmer with hip-hop, jazz, and house music. He has collaborated extensively with Argentine-American composer Osvaldo Golijov, helping to create electronic parts for the Grammy-nominated song cycle Ayre (2006) and one-act opera Ainadamar which won two Grammys (2007). Both of these works have been recorded for and released by Deutsche Grammophon. Flower and Golijov also collaborated on the film score for Francis Ford Coppola's 2007 film, Youth Without Youth, a composition for the opening of WNYC Radio's new performance space, and the score for Coppola's 2009 film Tetro, and the yet unreleased film Twixt." ^ Hide Bio for Jeremy Flower • Show Bio for Jon Evans "I'm Jon Evans. I love making music. After graduating from Berklee College of Music in 1991, I moved to California and quickly became part of the burgeoning music scene in the San Francisco Bay area. Over the next 20 years, I found myself recording and touring internationally with Linda Perry, Tori Amos, Paula Cole, Chris Cornell, Sarah McLachlan and others. The pull to spend more time back east was strong, so when the opportunity to build a studio in a bucolic setting presented itself, I jumped at the chance. At Brick Hill, whether I'm producing and mixing records, or composing with Stellwagen Symphonette and Ridiculon, it feels like anything is possible." ^ Hide Bio for Jon Evans
