A historic 2002 Victoriaville meeting of pianist Cecil Taylor, trumpeter Bill Dixon and percussionist Tony Oxley, yielding an unusually restrained and atmospheric performance in which Dixon's spacious, electronically colored brass lines anchor Taylor's delicate clusters and Oxley's finely detailed percussion, creating a sparse, suspended and quietly beautiful form of collective improvisation far removed from Taylor's more familiar torrents of sound.

Changing approaches to his music with new quartet of Jimmy Lyons on alto sax, Alan Silva on double bass and Andrew Cyrille on drums, pianist Cecil Taylor's incredible 1966 concert in Paris presented four extended compositions, here remastered and reissued with a track from a compilation LP--"With (Exit)"--extending his quartet with Bill Dixon on trumpet and Henry Grimes on double bass.

The only album pairing pianist Cecil Taylor and saxophonist John Coltrane, recorded in 1958 with Kenny Dorham on trumpet instead of Taylor's preferred Ted Curson, creating a tense studio dynamic that fueled extraordinary performances, reissued with two bonus tracks from 1957 and 1961 sessions featuring Archie Shepp, Roswell Rudd, Steve Lacy, Charles Davis, and Billy Higgins.
