"All Along the Way chronicles a concert tour through the United States and Canada from May 5 to June 30, 2022. The book explores the state of the DIY experimental music scenes just as these countries began to hold shows again after the Covid pandemic.
Written after the tour, these diaristic accounts offer a ground-level view of Kahn's travels, as he drives his way alone around North America in a series of thirty-seven solo concerts played in bars, clubs, arts spaces, galleries, museums, book stores, diners, basements, record stores, churches, people's living rooms and Fraternal Order of Eagles lodges.
In addition to the book, a CD is included with concert recordings from Portland and Chicago. Each of these concerts was a site-specific work, using local radio and field recordings made before every show. In addition, Kahn worked with modular synthesizer, mixing board, tube amplifier, electromagnetic transducers and contact microphones for these improvised pieces."-Editions
