"With Jason Kahn and Axel Dörner, two versatile and independent musicians meet to combine different traditions to a radically individual form of expression.
The musical spectrum of the German trumpeter Axel Dörner ranges from classical bebop over new music to free jazz and free improvisation. In his virtuosic playing these influences find their echo - beautiful sound in the free change with spooky sound surfaces and wafting marginal vibrations.
Jason Kahn's artistic oeuvre moves in the broad field between graphically noted compositions, installation works and free improvisation with voice, drums and electronics. From language, image and sound, the artist born in New York and living in Zurich forms a holistic cosmos. Where Jason Kahn's installations address the perceptions and concepts of space, his musical expression is a sign of physical presence. In particular, his vocal performances are characterized by a tremendous physicality. Kahn takes the vocal organ back to its basal sounds - from the throaty groaning to the sonorous cry - and thus creates a language of shattering primal strength."-Zoom In Festival
