Mr. Stonecipher is the solo harsh dream sound project of Ryan Lewis. The project dives deep within Ryan's childhood traumas and serves as an outlet and meditative release for the artist using sound. Stonecipher was his birth name thus being adopted by his grandparents becoming Lewis. -SQuidco 1/25/2023Have a better biography or biography source? sample the album:
![]() "'Uncle Richard' sets the tone of the album: shredded synth tones flowing through ring-modulated octaves around drones, outbursts, bit reducers and decimators. 'Doll Sheets' has an atmospheric droning backdrop against all sorts of kitchen-sink ephemera and improvised vocal snippets. "Broadway" is again a stepping-through of harsh synth tonal aspects and distortion. Probably the strongest track here with a real sense of movement. Food World are emphasizing some of the more outrageous aspects of their work and, as a collaborative duo, it makes for an interesting sense of persona. I don't think their point is to "compose" in the specific sense, there's really more of a sense of irreverence towards those types of convention. But, to me, there are no prerequisites for great noise music, it can be improvised, or clinically composed. The chaotic has just as much interest for me as the reigned-in. It should be very interesting to see where this group goes with the vast array of sounds at their disposal."-Heathen Harvest ![]() Related Categories of Interest: 3" CD Electro-Acoustic Sound, Noise, &c.
