"Thanos Chrysakis' output consists of composition, performance, and installation. He was born in Athens in 1971. After residing in the UK between 1998-2014 he moved in 2015 to Belarus. He composes for electronic and acoustic instruments, as well environmental sounds, focusing on the structural, aesthetic and transfigured capacity of sonic matter.

His formal training encompasses percussion (Dimitris Tzafestas), Sonic Arts (Hugh Davies) at the Lansdown Centre for Electronic Arts and a PhD in composition from Goldsmiths, University of London (EMS/Michael Young) as well as private studies in orchestration with Dmitri Smirnov. However it is the yearning of the creative praxis itself that transmitted the crucial aspect of artistic practice: that something has to be staked, that something must be ventured.

His work was amongst the selected works at the 32nd International Competition de Musique et d'Art Sonore Electroacoustiques de Bourges 2005, in the category œuvre d'art sonore électroacoustique, while received an honorary mention in 2006 at the 7th International Electroacoustic Composition Competition Musica Viva in Lisbon (the jury was constituted by Morton Subotnick (USA), François Bayle (France), and Miguel Azguime (Portugal).

He has recorded/performed with a number of improvisers including among others Wade Matthews, Dario Bernal-Villegas, Jerry Wigens, James O'Sullivan, Philip Somervell, Jamie Coleman, Chris Cundy, Zsolt Sőrés, Sebastian Lexer, Javier Pedreira, Julie Kjaer, Artur Vidal, Christian Kobi, Christian Skjødt, Yoni Silver, Nuno Torres, Kurt Liedwart, Ernesto Rodrigues, Abdul Moimême. Furthermore, he has also closely collaborated with the visual artists Pascal Dombis, and Villő Turcsány. Since 2007 he operates the record-label 'Aural Terrains' focusing in electroacoustics, composed and improvised music.

He has held residencies at the Visby Centre for Composers (twice) and at the Artus Contemporary Arts Studio in Budapest. His work has been supported by PRS for Music Foundation and the Swedish Art Council.

"Dawid Frydryk: Polish trumpet player. Grew up in a home filled with passion for classical music and his father encouraged him to study music from an early age. Soon his music activities went far beyond classical music, and through reggae, ska, world music, funk, hip-hop, electronic music turned into improvisation.

Living in Poland, Frydryk has been collaborating with local Polish jazz, free jazz and free improv musicians as well as with international musical environment (e.g. Gabriel Ferrandini, Hernani Faustino or musicians from Umlaut Records such as Joel Grip or Pierre Borel among others).

Also he has always been involved with a wide diversity of musical styles and situations as well e.g. he has been working as a part of band or as a session musician: in Polish tv's shows; with quite popular Polish reggae, ska or funky music bands; with Polish brass bands; with Polish classical orchestras.

In 2009 he graduated master's degree in jazz performance on the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wroclaw . He studied jazz trumpet under Piotr Wojtasik.

In the years 2011 - 2012 as originator and artistic director of the project called Art of Improvisation, Frydryk has been helping to promote the improvisation scene in Poland. (He has invited on AOI artists the like of William Parker, Hamid Drake, Alexander von Schlippenbach, Paul Lovens, Joëlle Léandre, Irène Schweizer, Maggie Nichols, Axel Dörner among others).

Now he is based in London and he is involved in London's thriving improvisation scene and working as a session musician as well."

Edward Lucas is an improvising tromboninst who co-runs the Earshots label and concert series with Daniel Kordik. They have a long standing trombone and synth duo: Kordik / Lucas.

"Sue Lynch runs 'The Horse Improvised Music Club' with Adam Bohman and Hutch Demouilpied. www.horseimprovclub.wordpress.com/.Since 2014, The horse has been based at IKLECTIK Art Lab, so this and other projects have been in conjunction with Eduard Solaz. Lynch is currently a member of David Petts-'Remote Viewers',with John Edwards, Mark Sanders, Caroline Kraabel , Adrian Northover and David Petts. She also performs with Adam Bohman, Eddie Prevost,Hutch Demouilpied,Richard Sanderson,Steve Noble and Sharon Gal. Sue Lynch is organiser and arranger for Hogcallin' a Mingus tribute ensemble, performing at the London 2016 Jazz Festival.

In 2015 she performed with Maria Vatentina's opera 'Mannequin'. She has recently performed as part of Tarek Atoui's 'Reverse Collection' at The Tate Modern, with Pat Thomas,Mark Harwood, Angharad Davies + Luke Younger. Sue Lynch is currently one of the featured musicians in Julie Kjaer's Interviews with Female Musicians on The London Improv Scene for The British Music Collection."
