Recording data in description.
A monumental double CD work from composer and sound artist Francisco L—pez, untitled (2021Ð2022) continues his exploration of immersive sonic environments, sculpted from unprocessed and often extreme field recordings gathered over the course of more than a decade. Created across multiple global locations — including Bologna, Tenerife, Dalvik, The Hague, Bangkok, Loosduinen, and Rosclave — this limited edition release (100 copies) presents a series of profound sonic investigations into the natural and constructed world.
The compositions, all part of L—pezÕs ongoing untitled series, include:
untitled #398 Ð Macizo de Teno and Macizo de Anaga, Tenerife (2020)
untitled #412 Ð Mlawula Nature Reserve, Eswatini (2011)
untitled #411 Ð Negev Desert, Dead Sea, and Golan Heights, Israel (2008Ð2009)
untitled #408 Ð Undisclosed desert locations, Southern Utah and Southern California (2015Ð2020)
untitled #410 Ð Tblisi, Mestia, Ipari, and Chaladi, Georgia (2012)
untitled #403 Ð Original soundtrack for the film Imaginary Futures by Darko Fritz
untitled #401 Ð Constructed from raw materials provided by Felipe Otondo from the Soundlapse project (Chile)
Composed with L—pezÕs distinctive approach to deep listening, the pieces feature intentional use of silence, quasi-silence, and even digital clipping as integral structural and aesthetic elements. Each piece rewards focused engagement, revealing intricately layered environments that blur the line between documentation and abstraction.
Recommended for listeners of electroacoustic composition, soundscape art, and expanded field recording practices, this is a richly conceived and rigorously composed album that encapsulates L—pezÕs mastery in reshaping reality into transcendent sound art.
