Exploring the intersection of electronic and acoustic sound, Textures & Tonalities for Analogue Synthesizers & Percussion finds Chicago-based composer and multi-instrumentalist Rick Reger sculpting immersive sonic landscapes through a fusion of vintage synthesizers, resonant gongs, singing bowls, and percussive textures.

Recorded between April and August 2023, the album showcases Reger's deep engagement with tone, resonance, and atmospheric space, drawing from both avant-garde electronic traditions and ritualistic percussive techniques. Utilizing an array of classic instruments-including the Arp 2600, VCS3, Moog Voyager, and Mellotron-Reger crafts expansive compositions that balance structured harmonic motion with organic, evolving timbres.

With a background in both music performance and journalism, as well as past collaborations with artists like Ken Vandermark and Tim Daisy in The Margots, Reger continues to push the boundaries of ambient, electroacoustic, and experimental soundscapes in this richly textural and deeply meditative work.
