Kern is the Berlin-based free improvising acoustic trio of clarinetist and saxophonist Edith Styer, trombonist Matthias Muller (Splitter Orchester, Xenon), and drummer Yorgos Dimitriadis (Fabric Trio, Glue), recording in the studio for 10 works of informed dialogs of great restraint and consummate control, from a mix of collective compositions and two from Steyer.

An extended improvisation (the title meaning "film in your head") from Berlin drummer Yorgos Dimitriadis, a founding member of GRIX, GLUE and FABRIC trio, here in his first solo release, driving a small drum kit played conventionally and a hand-held microphone into remarkable sonic territory, in both meditative and rapidly rhythmic sections.

The 2nd release from the free improvising trio of trumpeter Tom Arthurs, bassist Miles Perkins, and drummer Yorgo Dimitriadis, recording in the studio in Berlin, 2012 for 8 collective improvisations with melodic strength and intensive communication.

Bringing together masterful players Paul Dunmall (sax), Hilary Jeffery (trombone), Alexander Von Schlippenbach (piano), Paul Schuber (sax), Mike Majkowski (bass), and Yorgos Dimitriadis (drums) for a studio release of incredibly well-balanced and insightful improvisation.
