"Tomasz Gadecki, born August 15, 1971

According to the artist himself, he started his musical adventure playing the trombone in a parish brass band. The Gdynia, Poland-born artist eventually switched to the saxophone; the results of his first fascination with jazz was the band SŁOŃ (which he founded with friends from school), and a duet with Piotr Mania. Later on, in 2006, Gadecki's band Bikomutant won a contest for alternative bands organized by Alchemia. He has collaborated with improvisation artists such as Jacek Mazurkiewicz, Marcin Dzidzia Zabrodzki, Mikołaj Trzaska, Tomasz Sowiński and Rafał Mazur. He also had a hand in recording the soundtrack to Wojciech Smarzowski's Pod Mocnym Aniołem (The Mighty Angel). Apart from the duet Olbrzym i Kurdupel, Gadecki formed Sambar with Paulina Owczarek, which debuted with the albumMelt!

Bands: Brass Band of the Franciscan Parish in Gdynia, Brass Band of Gdynia Shipyard, DK Orchestra in Gdynia, 'Elephant', 'Praise the Lord', duet with Piotr Mania, duet with Jacek Mazurkiewicz, 'Jazzmassacra', 'Bikomutant', 'Giant and Kurdupel ", Ikenga Drummers, Contemporary Noise Sextet - during Warsaw Summer Jazz Days (2011), Groont Ansamble, Dzidzia - Marcin Zabrodzki, Walkirie Saxophone Animals."

descriptions, reviews, &c.

"Two excellent muscians from Gdańsk - baritone and tenor saxophone player Tomasz Gadecki, drummer Michał Gos and Ukrainian famous bass player known for example from the great and legendary Ken Vandermark's Resonance made a band and decided to pay astonishing and uncommon tribute to John Coltrane.

But this is not a simple tribute. It's the music inspired by Coltrane as musician, personality and human being. Great Coltrane's songs like Naima, The Father And The Son, And The Holy Ghost or Sephardic Light became only a starting point to show us how Trane's music can live in contemporary improvised act.

All music was commissioned and played in Klub Żak during famous Jazz Jantar Festival 2019."-Fundacja Sluchaj!
