"Mainly associated with jazz and creative music, Antoine Berthiaume delivers, with Small Tease, a surprising body of pieces standing on the fence of instrumental folk. Berthiaume is no newcomer to this genre, since Rodéoscopique dabbed in it too. This time, though, he tackles it intimately: out of eleven tracks, five feature him solo, playing either the guitar, the banjo, or the dobro. The other six tracks for various ensembles are closed invitations to hear him with drummer Stefan Schneider, Rémi-Jean Leblanc on doublebass, Rick Haworth on pedal steel, and a string trio with Jennifer Thiessen, Améline Chauvette Groulx and Erika Donald. Released on Ambiances Magnétiques, Small Tease is a candid parenthesis, eleven melodic miniatures to listen to hands moving and strings being caressed."-Ambiances Magnetiques
