Music & Venosta are music ethnologists, mining the territories of recorded musics and recombining them in fascinating ways. Their releases on Recommended Records are incredible sound documents. Here with Massimo Mariani they transport the listener in their "homage to ancient music, but through an 'electro-acoustic approach." The listener feels as though they're stepping through doors from one culture to another, in juxtaposed portals between worlds and conceptions, modern yet ancient all at once. The booklet tells you to "Listen to this music extremely loud" but the subtleties and atmospheres work at any listening angle.
