Asebeia (ἀσέβεια) was a criminal charge in ancient Greece for the "desecration and mockery of divine objects", for "irreverence towards the state gods" and disrespect towards parents and dead ancestors; here it is also the informed and diverse, freely improvised duo of Spanish improvisers, saxophonist Liba Villavecchia and drummer/percussionist Vasco Trilla.

It is said that desecrating or mocking the sacred leads to punishment sooner or later. Hell devours us into the depths of its black heart.
The first circle of the wheel of Asebeia is associated with sharing. Giving everything as a matter of life or death. Blood sweat and tears, metals and creaks, until the last breath. The next circle corresponds to happiness. Loading and unloading oneself, taking a deep breath, releasing everything, not letting anything inside and letting the soul grieve for dreams of joy.
The third circle corresponds to knowledge. Accumulating and forgetting it, knowing that you are going to lose it, like Don Quixote, whose brain dried up as a result of reading too much. Do you feel the punishment?
Because now comes excess, that is, organizing and disorganizing the universe from one end to another, one galaxy after another, an eternity of forced labor that can't be finished ahead of you. Not bad, right?
Because after this, peace arrives along with the anguish that it is associated with. For what happens when nothing moves? A puff and then chaos, a confusion that obliterates us. Are we sketches of our senses? What do you feel? Failed calmness. Knowing that you have vanquished, wishing something, trying to carry the burden of the world and failing at it. Compassion enters the scene in order to overcome pain. You can only try again.

• Show Bio for Vasco Trilla "Born in Barcelona, Vasco Trilla started playing drums at the age of nineteen. His first influences were progressive rock and metal, but gradually he developed an interest in a variety of different genres such as jazz, Indian music, African music, klezmer, free improvisation, etc. Since then he has collaborated, toured and recorded with many different bands and projects such as Boi Akih (an ethno-jazz band from the Netherlands), Planeta Imaginario (progressive jazz-rock) October Equus (avant-rock), The Oddvisers (pop-avant), Fine! (indie pop-rock), Mundo Flotante (ethno-jazz-rock), Kaulakau/Cobla Sant Jordi (an ethno-jazz Catalan orchestra), Filthy Habits Ensemble (a jazz octet playing Zappa's and Stravinsky's repertoire), Cows On Trees (a jazz-improv quartet with Susana Santos Silva and Kaja Draksler), Balimonster (an impro-ethno duo with Angel Ontalva), Yedo Gibson-Vasco Trilla duo (an improv sax & drums duo), Outerzone (jazz-core), Reptilian Mambo (mambo free rock), Liba's Traum, etc. In the last years he has been playing and experimenting on the free-improv scene, applying extended techniques to the kit and treating it as a textural-melodic instrument. Blowing, bowing, scratching, playing with hands and all kinds of objects, all is valid to expand the vocabulary of this innovative percussionist.
