descriptions, reviews, &c.

"Franklin | Gill is the collaborative project of Sydney-based saxophonist Sam Gill and Melbourne's Joseph Franklin on semi-hollow bass guitar. Since coming together in 2018, they have developed a unique duo language that draws on the sonic possibilities of their instruments, moving between shimmering densities and free-flowing lyricism.

Their debut album To My Left Is Where the Lake Is features seven improvisations recorded over the course of an afternoon in November 2019. The music finds the pair in inspired form, conjuring free-flowing performances that move between rapid call-and-response exchanges, textural drones and relaxed melodic invention."-Frankin / Gill
