"The Runcible Quintet is the result of a collaboration between 5 musicians, all of whom are committed to pursuing and exploring the possibilities of creative improvisation. Neil Metcalfe (flute), Adrian Northover (saxophone), Daniel Thompson (guitar) and John Edwards (bass) are all active on the London and international improvisation scene. In 2016 they met and played some gigs with the Italian percussion maestro Marcello Magliocchi. A studio session was arranged, which resulted in a CD, Five. In 2018 Four was released, from live sessions of a quartet (sans Mr Edwards) and a quintet gig."-Adrian Northover
