Artist Biographies:

"Daniel was born in Norfolk, England and since 2005 currently resides in hackney, london, other than a couple of years playing violin as a child, his musical studies didn't seriously begin until his late teens.

Largely self-taught, after moving to London in 2005 Daniel embarked upon a life changing period. He studied with the guitarist John Russell for two years, "which provided me with one of the richest and most rewarding musical experiences of my life" and Daniel also spent many evenings listening to the trio of John Edwards, Tony Marsh and Evan Parker at The Vortex in East London who "collectively confirmed my musical direction".

Daniel is A part of the fertile London improvising music scene and has also played at many other venues across the UK and Europe. As well as being a musician Daniel has been organising concerts since 2007 and ORGANISED the monthly 'Foley Street improvised music concert series' in london BETWEEN 2013 AND 2016. Daniel is currently in the process of organising a new CONCERT series which will start in 2017.

As well as performing solo and with other musicians in many ad-hoc improvising situations Daniel also performs in long-term collaborations or "working groups".

Recent collaborations (both ad-hoc and long-term) have seen Daniel performing and or recording with Neil Metcalfe, Steve Noble, Evan Parker, Caroline Kraabel,Tom Jackson, Hannah Marshall, Adam Bohman, Alex Ward, Kay Grant, Mark Sanders, John Edwards, Benedict Taylor, Lauri Hyvärinen, Roland Ramanan, Simon Rose, Adrian Northover, Marcello Magliocchi, Javier Carmona, anton mobin, Guillaume Viltard and The London Improvisers Orchestra amongst many others.

Neil Metcalfe is a UK flutist who has been a member of groups Evan Parker Octet, Garage, London Improvisers Orchestra, Paul Rogers Freedom Orchestra, The Dedication Orchestra, The Intuitive Art Ensemble, The Runcible Quintet, Transatlantic Art Ensemble, Trio F O, and Unlaunched Orchestra.

Daniel Thompson, who was born in Norfolk, England, is largely self-taught. After moving to London in 2006 he studied with the guitarist John Russell for two years, progressing to be come a vital part of the fertile London improvising music scene Daniel, as well performing across the UK and Europe. Since 2007 he has organized concerts in his monthly improvised music concert series entitled 'Foley Street' on London's West End.

"Neil Metcalfe read music at Edinburgh University, cultivating a reputation as an accompanist, continuo player and conductor, before taking up a repetiteur scholarship at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. He was subsequently a member of the music staff at Scottish Opera and has also worked in opera houses in Sydney, Dortmund, Pittsburg and Belfast. He has performed throughout Scotland, has recorded a CD with the Dunedin Consort and recently completed a series of recordings for BBC Radio Scotland. As a committed supporter of young people in music, Neil is a founder member of British Youth Opera, is currently Chairman of the Scottish Schools Orchestra Trust and, during term time, is the Director of Music of Strathallen School."-
