Eight free improvisations recorded in the studio from London improvisers, guitarist Daniel Thompson and flautist Neil Metcalf, recorded and presented in the order played to maintain the familiar dialog and sense of adventure between two frequent collaborators.
Daniel Thompson, who was born in Norfolk, England, is largely self-taught. After moving to London in 2006 he studied with the guitarist John Russell for two years, progressing to be come a vital part of the fertile London improvising music scene Daniel, as well performing across the UK and Europe. Since 2007 he has organized concerts in his monthly improvised music concert series entitled 'Foley Street' on London's West End.
"Neil Metcalfe read music at Edinburgh University, cultivating a reputation as an accompanist, continuo player and conductor, before taking up a repetiteur scholarship at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. He was subsequently a member of the music staff at Scottish Opera and has also worked in opera houses in Sydney, Dortmund, Pittsburg and Belfast. He has performed throughout Scotland, has recorded a CD with the Dunedin Consort and recently completed a series of recordings for BBC Radio Scotland. As a committed supporter of young people in music, Neil is a founder member of British Youth Opera, is currently Chairman of the Scottish Schools Orchestra Trust and, during term time, is the Director of Music of Strathallen School."-http://www.musicforward.co.uk
