Recorded outdoors along Stony Kill Creek in Wawarsing and in a Mt Tremper studio, Evan Lindorff-Ellery and Naomi Juniper blend acoustic guitar, voice and glass jar with electric guitar, piano and activated objects into intimate yet friction-laced improvisations that merge environmental presence with tactile surface work, balancing fragile song-forms against raw, textural interplay.

Evan Lindorff-Ellery's cassette-length solo sessions, the inaugural release from Disseminated Light and Sound Recordings blend cymbals, electric guitar, digital piano, snare drum and activated objects into patient, textural improvisations that emphasize resonance, tactile surface and gradual transformation, masterfully shaped into an immersive study of sustained tone and subtle sonic decay.

Longtime collaborators Aaron Russell and Sandy Ewen reunite on guitar and electronics for four works recorded between 2019 and 2025, merging abstract guitar approaches through synthesized drones, processed sound, feedback, and warm hypnotic fields, their distinct palettes unfolding in deftly paced textures that balance intimacy, resonance, and exploratory electronic abrasion.

A tactile 12-part acoustic-object improvisation from Jeph Jerman and Ted Byrnes, using kalimba, snares, bells, broken cymbal, cans, concrete floor, pinecones, bowls, pot lids, water, hands and other found or homemade materials to build a restless sound world of rustle, scrape, metallic resonance, loose pulse and strange-beat movement, extending Jerman's found-sound practice through Byrnes' free percussion language.

A tender, dreamlike collaboration between Stefano Pilia on guitars and Oliver Mann on vocals, expanded with Mick Turner's guitar, Zona MC's vocals and lyrics, and brass from Christopher Grace on trumpet, Freya Hombergen on horn and Jackson Bankovic on trombone, shaping nine intimate pieces where electro-acoustic texture, art-song fragility and experimental folk merge in a quiet meditation on friendship, memory and distance.

Demonstrating the striking diversity modern solo percussionists present, the Italian tape label TSSS Tapes compiles an international set of solo works from explorers Tim Daisy, Jeph Jerman, Ted Byrnes, Wojtek Kurek, Clinton Green, Rie Nakajima, Emilio Berne, Shakeeb Abu Hamdan, Lucie Nezri, Karen Willems, Paolo Sanna, Li Qing, Carlos Godinho, and Rodrigo Vieira.

Austere and intensely focused, this Chilean duo of Benjamin Vergara on trumpet and Eden Carrasco on alto saxophone draws on more than 20 years of collaboration in experimental music, noise, minimalism, free jazz and site-specific performance, shaping four improvisations where breath, timbre, camouflaged melody, droning blues and submerged cool-jazz gestures blur into textured acoustic abstraction

A three-part solo cassette from Jeph Jerman, transforming found sounds, object textures, and electroacoustic detail into a patient study of friction, resonance, space, and decay, with the title possibly alluding to Alvin "Shipwreck" Kelly's 1920s flagpole-sitting endurance feats, suggesting suspended listening, precarious balance, and heightened attention to an exposed sonic environment.

A heavy and wild ride in the 9th album from New York's The Gate of composer and tuba player Dan Peck, bass player Tom Blancarte and percussionist Brian Osborne, concise pieces of heavy melodic elements, dark riffs and an ominous attitude, intersecting with plundered asides and anxious pauses, a strong addition to their discography and an engrossing collection of deep disturbance.

Composed using an "exquisite corpse" method during the pandemic, where each player provided a partially complete track with instructions to expand their concept, enlisting an incredible set of musicians across the US & Europe, directed by Moe! Staiano, including Jesse Quattro, Fred Frith, Carla Kihlstedt, GW Sok, Amy X Neuburg, Darren Johnston, &c &c.

Drawing on Italian folk melodies, family memory, and the legacy of Blaser's maternal grandmother, Resistance fighter Rosina Pierina Scarpioni, trombonist Samuel Blaser joins Russ Lossing on piano, Masa Kamaguchi on bass, and Billy Mintz on drums in a deeply personal quartet session of open spaces, raucous interplay, lyrical intimacy, and contemporary improvisation shaped by heritage, song, and identity.

Composer Francisco del Pino and vocalist Charlotte Mundy create a deeply nuanced and emotionally rich exchange, as Mundy's radiant voice navigates del Pino's intricate, polyphony-tinged compositions, layering syllabic repetition, resonant phrasing, and textural detail into a multitrack performance that evokes mantra, lament, and ecstatic meditation in equal measure.

A studio album from the Tamarisk free improvising trio of guitarist Andrew Weather, bassist David Menestres and Charalambides co-founder Christina Carter on vocals, the third album from this free folk trio of cathartic and unpredictable direction, here recording at Andrew Weather's recording space at Wind Tide, in Littlefield Texas in 2022.

Martin Küchen reunites the Håker Flaten/Nordeson core of Angles 3 with longtime Angles 6/8/9 vibraphonist Mattias Ståhl, revisiting older compositions in a lean quartet setting where volatile bass-and-drum momentum meets metallic resonance around Küchen's stark saxophone themes, distilling the larger ensemble's power into a clearer, more spacious and sharply focused form.

Pianist Irene Aranda brings together saxophonist Don Malfon and vocal artist Ami Yamasaki for a first trio recording built from three radically individual approaches to sound, merging prepared and extended piano techniques, Malfon's highly developed acoustic saxophone vocabulary and Yamasaki's echolocation-inspired voice into an unpredictable improvisational exchange of breath, resonance, friction and silence.

The second volume from Australian quartet BELIEVE's 2023 sessions at Golden Retriever Studio, with Peter Farrar on alto sax, Novak Manojlovic on piano, Clayton Thomas on double bass and Laurence Pike on drums, extending their intensely responsive collective improv through five pieces balancing free jazz, dense interaction, percussion-rich textures and moments of finely suspended restraint.

French trombonist Christiane Bopp strips the instrument down to breath, metal, vibration, and raw physical gesture, using voice, mutes, and extended techniques to transform the trombone into an unpredictable field of whispers, drones, fractured melodies, and sudden eruptions, creating deeply intimate improvised music that moves between delicate precision and overwhelming force.

Zeena Parkins, Mette Rasmussen and Ryan Sawyer return for Glass Triangle's third album, expanding the electric harp, alto saxophone and percussion language of their earlier releases with voice, preparations and bells, while distilling their volatile free improvisation into shorter, sharply focused pieces balancing texture, space, momentum and spontaneous collective change.
