"Kommun, led by Swedish guitarist Finn Loxbo, resides in the tension between the experience of circular time; an elongated now, and the expectations contained within our linear perception of time. The ensemble explores the tension between the individual's own lines and the collective meaning-making. Every sound is equally important, concrete in itself, as much a building block as a decoration. The ensemble collectively improvises phrases that are formed together as a singular element. They are distributed across the ensemble's instrumentation: acoustic steel-string guitar, piano, double bass, violin, cello and percussion. The phrases are born together and continue on a cyclic journey, folding into themselves. They are constantly moving but also going nowhere.

Kommun initially formed as a quartet and released the critically acclaimed album Ephemeralds in 2023 on John Chantler's Fonstret/Edition Festival label. The album showcased their ability to blend intricate tonalities with spontaneous, real-time composition. Since then, the quartet has toured extensively, performing across Europe and earning recognition for their unique approach to ensemble playing. With the addition of two new members, Leo Svensson Sander on cello and Anna Lindal on violin, Kommun has expanded into a sextet. This expansion enriches the ensemble's already broad tonal palette, adding depth and complexity to their sound.

The sextet version of Kommun continues the work begun on Ephemeralds, with a heightened focus on collective interaction and the intricate relationships between sound and silence. The group's evolving lineup deepens their exploration of just intonation, harmonic tension, and improvisational structure, pushing the boundaries of what was established in their debut release."-Thanatosis Produktion

The musicians of Lisa Ullén Quartet have their musical roots in jazz, punk, chamber music and blues but come together in what might modestly be called modern acoustic improvisational music. An impressively keen ear is paired with astounding musicianship, where each single note played is as important as the linear totality. A new generation of Swedish musicians expand the concept of free jazz, giving space to beat and melody as well. All the members of the group are well established on the

Swedish jazz and improvisation scene. LUQ have been broadcast by the Swedish National radio and TV and the second album was released in April -09 with very good reviews Lisa Ullén and Nina de Heney Duo has existed since 2007, and has rapidly gained recognition as one the most thrilling new groups on the improvisation scene in Sweden. They are individually known and respected as well established performers, having each developed a personal sound on their respective instruments.

Their second album, released in April -09, received very good reviews. They have performed at the main festivals in Sweden, such as the Umeå International Jazz Festival and the Stockholm Jazz Festival, and their music has several times been broad-casted on the National Swedish Jazz Radio P2."

"Vilhelm BroMander (1988) is a Swedish bass player, improviser and composer based in Stockholm. He embraces his bass from many different angles, with a great curiosity in sound, texture, intonation and timbre. Often he directs his focus to acoustic details such as beating, common partials and difference tones - to hear what happens with our perception when we allow ourselves to be immersed in sound for a longer stretch of time. He draws inspiration from a wide variety of genres such as improvised music, free jazz and electronic music as well as his studies of just intonation and dhrupad.

As an improviser he has played with musicians like Axel DöRner, Tisha Mukarji, Michael Thieke, Sten Sandell, Christer BothéN, Katt Hernandez, Lisa UlléN, Henrik Olsson to name a few.

Also being a popular session musician he has played with among others Daniel Johnston, Saigon, Musette, Joe Davolaz, Josefin öHrn + The Liberation, The Tiny & Music Is The Weapon."
