"Christopher Fox is a composer who sometimes writes about music too. Often working at a tangent to the musical mainstream he has based his compositional career around close collaborations with particular performers, most recently the soprano Elizabeth Hilliard, clarinettist Heather Roche and the vocal group EXAUDI.
His new CD celebrates his longstanding collaboration with the pianist John Snijders, a relationship that began in 1990 and has involved them working together both on solo works and on a series of works for the Ives Ensemble, of which Snijders is director.
Fox's work is the subject of the book Perspectives on the music of Christopher Fox: Straight lines in broken times (Ashgate-Routledge, 2016). CDs of his music are available on the Ergodos, Hat Hut Records, Metier and NMC labels. He is editor of the quarterly new music journal TEMPO, published by Cambridge University Press, and Professor of Music at Brunel University London."-Ezz-thetics
