After an encounter with Dizzy Gillespie, who invited him in 1984 to be part of his band in concert, he decided to become a jazz musician. In 1988 he received the diploma of jazz teacher and taught trumpet improvisation at the Academy of Music (CNSM) in Lyon. In 1991 he became a member of ARFI ; He played in various formations of the Association. He also worked with Louis Sclavis and Claude Tchamitchian. In the next few years he was also active with Daunik Lazro and Paul Lovens. Since 2005 he has been part of the Globe Unity Orchestra.
