"Jacques Di Donato (born 1942 in Bourg-en-Bresse) is a French clarinetist, saxophonist and percussionist who has performed in modern jazz, classical and contemporary music, and improvisation music. Between 1984 and 2007, he taught a clarinet at the Conservatoire national supˇrieur de musique et de danse de Lyon.
At the age of twelve, Di Donato began to play drums in his father's dance orchestra (as an autodidact ), who also taught him to play the alto saxophone. He studied the Clarinet at the Bˇziers Music School, then at the Conservatoire National in Montpellier and Versailles, then completed his studies at the Conservatoire Supˇrieur de Paris in 1966 with the first prize.
