Atolon + Chip Shop Music: Public Private (Another Timbre)
Label: Another Timbre
Released in: Greece/UK

ChipShop music with Erik Carlsson (percussion), Martin Kuchen (sax & radio), David Lacey (percussion & electronics) and Paul Vogel (computer & clarinet) meet Atolon (Ruth Barberan, Alfredo Costa Monteiro, and Ferran Fages.

ChipShop has been working together since 2007, combining Irish and Swedish players amongst the best and most prolific in modern electroacoustic improvisation. Atolón is 3/4ths of Octante, who released lunula on Another Timbre in 2009. Fages and Monteiro have worked together for more than a decade as Cremaster, with releases on Monotype. The merging of these two groups brings six keenly listening improvisers together for a unique and spacious music, a fascinating album of restrained soundwork that belies the size of the group, while fascinating the listener in subtle details.
