Give Guitars To People (NATuerlich / Arbeit / Rua): The Look Of Silence, Vol 1 (Recommended Records)

The trio of guitarists Patricia Bateira (NATurlich), Jochen Arbeit (Einstürzende Neubauten) and Vitor Rua (Vitor Rua & The Metaphysical Angels) combine to create a new style of long-form electronic music, a richly continuous work seemingly without start or end, incorporating sustain, effects, & field recordings into a beautifully abstract aural environment.

Descriptions, Reviews, &c.

"Give Guitars to People is a project, which deals with a new music style, combining their individual sounds, horizontally and vertically, to mould a unique aesthetic, identified by Rua as meta-idiomatic.

Of their live performance, this was said: Imagine a performance that doesn't begin - just starts - and that doesn't end - just stops; no climax or any intention to reach an end; where the events of the staging exist for themselves instead of participating in any progression.

Give Guitars To People is Jochen Arbeit, Vitor Rua and NATurlich's idiomatic fronts with a schizoid function in a discontinuous and deconstructive flow, created with no apparent relationship between them, except the pure charm of building an abstract musical chain.

The Look of Silence is a spectrum of overlapping colors, intentions and progressions based on the dynamics of togetherness and the variables of here and now, that doesn't begin, just starts and doesn't end. Co-release with NATuerlich."-ReR Megacorp

Patricia Bateira: "Busy being NATürlich, a non-binary artistic endowment out of the desire to revisit a former self, the girl who wanted to be a boy; a person and a music project dedicated to the decolonisation of subjectivity and the deconstruction of the concept of norm in contemporary music. NATürlich is active as improviser and new music composer. Since 2017 is a member of the Initiative Neue Musik Berlin. In 2018, launched the project Give Guitars To People, a meta-idiomatic new music improvisational experience in collaboration with Jochen Arbeit (Einstürzende Neubauten) and Vítor Rua (Telectu) funded by Musikfonds e.V. by means of the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media (BKM), with the support of Camões Berlin, which resulted on the album The Look Of Silence with ReR Megacorp. The project is now funded by DG-Artes (Portuguese Art Institute) for a series of concerts."
