"I'm a jazz and improv double bassist, based in Hastings, SE England.

I lead and compose for The Olie Brice Quintet, which released our debut album 'Immune to Clockwork' in 2014. The quintet was named as one of the 'new bands 2014' in the El Intruso Critics Poll, and was described by Richard Williams as "one of the most interesting and satisfying bands on the current UK scene". The current line-up of the quintet features George Crowley on tenor, Alex Bonney on cornet, Mike Fletcher on C-melody sax and Jeff Williams on drums. Our 2nd album, 'Day After Day' will be released in Jue 2017 on the Babel label.

"Will Glaser is a Nottingham born Drummer and Percussionist. An emerging talent on the British Jazz scene Will has had the pleasure of working with British Jazz luminaries such as Dame Cleo Lane, The London Jazz Orchestra, Ian Shaw and Julian Joseph.

He is a member of Tom Mcreddie's Inkine, The Ben Cox Band and leads his own trio, 40 Ton Parachute, with saxophonist Sam Rapley and guitarist Nick Costly-White. With a broad range of influences Will can be seen performing regularly in various contexts throughout the capital."

"Alex Bonney is a trumpeter, electronic musician and recording/mix engineer and producer based in London.

He leads the Alex Bonney Quartet, is a member of Leverton Fox, light.box, Splice, BABs, Golden Age of Steam, Sefiroth, Olie Brice Quintet, plays in a duo with bassist Dave Kane, performs solo with electronics and in a variety of other improvising ensembles. When not performing Alex works with a variety of artists producing and engineering music for leading jazz, improvised and contemporary music record labels including ECM, HCR, Two Rivers, Whirlwind, Babel, Loop, Jellymould, Not Applicable and Edition. He also works as a music educator and photographer."

"Since moving to Leeds in 2008 to study Jazz at Leeds College of Music, Kim Macari has been developing a reputation as a player, band leader and educator on the jazz scene across the UK.

She has played in numerous large ensembles including Tommy Smith Youth Jazz Orchestra, National Youth Jazz Orchestra of Scotland, John Warren's Voice of The North and the James Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, amongst others, and has had the chance to play alongside a number of highly respected jazz musicians including Kenny Wheeler, Mike Gibbs, Henry Lowther, Dave Liebman, Jacqui Dankworth, Phil Robson, Christine Tobin and Arild Andersen.

Her own projects perform regularly at jazz venues throughout the UK. Her two year collaboration with Leah Gough-Cooper and their sextet LOCUS resulted in two well received UK Tours which included a number of high profile festival dates and an archive of live recordings.

Kim's work as a performer and as a band leader has garnered recognition in the press and has been she been twice nominated as Young Jazz Musician of the Year and also Big Band of the Year by Jazz Yorkshire. In 2013, Kim received an Emerging Excellence Award from Musicians Benevolent Fund (now Help Musicians UK). This funded an extended stay in New York, where she studied with Ingrid Jensen and Ralph Alessi and recorded at Tedesco Studios.

Kim's current creative focus is on quartet Family Band, a chordless quartet which draws inspiration on the music of late Coltrane, Ornette Coleman and Jim Black amongst others. Family Band have been selected as one of 10 flagship ensembles in the North by Jazz North and are currently planning the release of their first full length album.

In addition to her work as a musician, Kim is also active in behind the scenes. She currently runs Apollo Jazz Network and is currently the director of the Orpheus Project, a large scale touring initiative which sees international jazz artists collaborate with UK musicians and tour throughout the North of England. Their featured artists have so far included Ingrid Jensen and Ellery Eskelin."

"Composer, arranger, producer, musical director and saxophonist Jason Yarde writes music that has been described as powerful, spiritual, evocative, rhapsodic, hair-raising and formidable. Jason began playing alto and soprano saxophones with Jazz Warriors while still a teenager and then went on to MD this landmark orchestra, becoming one of its principal writers. He has a BA (Hons) in Performance Arts from Middlesex University - a degree that incorporated a year at William Paterson Collage in New Jersey where he studied orchestration, studio engineering, jazz performance and saxophone.

As well as composing for his own performance projects, Jason has written for dance, music theatre, opera and TV. He is also a brilliant musical director, and his highly distinctive arranging style reflects the numerous artists and ensembles he has worked with. In addition to composing, arranging and performing, Jason Yarde has enjoyed much success as a record producer. He has recently completed the debut CD by rising star UK jazz pianist Gwilym Simcock and he is one of the foremost producers at UK independent Jazz label Dune Records. "

"George Crowley is a saxophonist, clarinettist, composer and promoter based in London.

Since his arrival in the capital in 2007, Crowley has steadily established himself as a key player within the city's burgeoning creative jazz and improv scene, and increasingly well known further afield, performing across the UK and Europe.

As a performer he is active across a range of styles; whether infusing melodic through-composed writing with open, searching improv in his own Can of Worms, channelling fiery avant-parade ghosts in Brass Mask, weaving through the polyrhythmic Ghanaian trance of Vula Viel or exploring more traditional repertoire, Crowley's energy and expressive, warm saxophone sound mark him out as a musician who demands attention.

He can also be found playing with bands and musicians such as Melt Yourself Down, Julian Argüelles' Septet, Yazz Ahmed, Red Snapper, the Michael Chillingworth Septet, Rick Simpson's Klämmer and the Olie Brice Quartet featuring Jeff Williams. Outside of the world of jazz and improvised music he has worked with artists such as Boy George and Culture Club and Mount Kimbie."

"Rachel Musson is a saxophonist, improviser and composer living in London, UK. She is involved with a variety of improvisation projects, including a trio with Hannah Marshall and Julie Kjaer, a duo with vibraphonist Corey Mwamba, and a trio with Mark Sanders and John Edwards. She has released two albums under her own name, one featuring Liam Noble and Mark Sanders (Tatterdemalion, Babel Records), and one featuring her ensemble Skein (Flight Line, F-ire Recorded Music). She also plays with the London Improvisers Orchestra and Alex Ward's Quintet and Sextet, and has performed with a diverse range of musicians on the fluid European improvising scene, including Alcyona Mick, Han Bennink, Liam Noble, Gail Brand, Eddie Prevost, Olie Brice, Federico Ughi, Mary Halvorson, John Russell, Adam Linson, Sebastian Rochford, Louis Moholo-Moholo, Pat Thomas, among many others."

"Cath Roberts' work explores free improvisation, composition and the music at their meeting point. Her primary outlet as a composer and improviser on baritone saxophone is the quintet Sloth Racket, which has toured widely and released several albums. She leads ten piece improvising ensemble Favourite Animals, and has a long-standing duo with guitarist Anton Hunter, Ripsaw Catfish. As bandmate, Cath is a member of Madwort Sax Quartet, Vole, Article XI and Alex Ward's Item 10 amongst other groups. She co-runs LUME with Dee Byrne, producing concerts, tours and festivals since 2013 and releasing music on an offshoot label, Luminous. Cath is also part of the group of musicians who run BRÅK, an improvised music series taking place in Brockley, South East London."

"Johnny Hunter is a northern UK-based drummer who comes from a background of both the Avant-Garde and the more mainstream Jazz. He has performed or recorded with such esteemed musicians as Benn Clatworthy, Mick Beck, Nat Birchall, Jamil Sheriff, Jamie Taylor, Pete Fairclough, Walt Shaw, Corey Mwamba, Steve Beresford, Graham Clark, Adam Fairhall and Steve Berry to name a few. He is also heavily involved in the Reggae and Dub scene.

He is currently playing with Misha Gray's Prehistoric Jazz Quintet, Liverpool-based group playing heavy modal Jazz inspired by John Coltrane, Pharoah Sanders and the like; Nat Birchall; Engine Room Favourites, AACM inspired Free Jazz; the Blind Monk Trio, sax/bass/drums trio playing heavy rootjazz; the Dub Jazz Soundsystem, a mash-up of heavy Dub and psychedelic modal Jazz; Skamel, a Ska/Jazz/Dub ensemble inspired by the French Reggae group Raspigaous; his own "chordless" quartet set up to explore the freedom and limitations of having no chordal instrument; among several other projects. He also runs the Jazz jam night at Matt & Phred's Jazz Club."
