Cellist Janel Leppin arranged this moving, passionate and magnificently genre-blurring work by pedal steel guitarist Susan Alcorn, recorded at a live performance during her residency at Issue Project Room in 2012 with Anthony Pirog on guitar, Janel Leppin on cello, Jessika Kenney on vocals, Eyvind Kang on viola, Skuli Sverrisson on bass, and Doug Wieselman on clarinets.

Chabala, Barry / Ann Coman: In And Out Of Focus

This album of improvised music was born out of mutual appreciation and admiration for the respective art forms of Ann Coman and experimental sound artist Barry Chabala, who performed original guitar improvisations while Coman intuitively created visual artworks from those performances, then reversing the process where Chabala interpreted Coman's art as visual scores.

The first collaborative work from France-based Australian drummer & percussionist Will Guthrie and Australian keyboardist James Rushford, improvising in the studio in Nantes and then adding layers in both Melbourne and Nantes as the duo developed five primarily reticent works of mysterious interaction, occasionally erupting only to subsume beguilingly again.

Hecker / Okkyung Lee: Statistique Synthetique / Teum (the Silvery Slit) [VINYL]

A split LP between two GRM associates: Florian Hecker in a work of computer-generated sound with resynthesized situated texture recordings, drawing on the history of computer synthesis; and cellist Okkyung Lee in an overture of cello multiplications, fragmentations, and duplications creating incredible tension in interacting layers of sound.

Originally issued on vinly LP in 1986 and at last reissued on vinyl, this incredible band emerged post-Henry Cow, initiated by alumni Chris Cutler (drums) and Lindsay Cooper (reeds), plus bassist Bill Gilonis, Zeena Parkins on harp, and four outstanding vocalists taking on Chris Cutler's insightful texts: Phil Minton, Dagmar Krause, Sally Potter, and Robert Wyatt.

Recording in live conditions and multitrack, French guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Jeremy Baysse performs a version of Terry Riley's classical minimalist composition "In C" using electric guitar, acoustic guitar, twelve string guitar, effects, banjo, bass, glockenspiel, maracas, cymbal, mandolin, synthesizer, percussion, and drum machine.

Bokanowski, Michele: Rhapsodia / Battements Solaires [VINYL]

Two works from Paris-based electroacoustic composer Michèle Bokanowski (b. 1943 and who studied with Pierre Schaeffer) recorded by the artist in 2008 and 2018, "Rhapsodia" an hypnotic work of looping structures and rich strains of muted melody, while "Battements Solaires" is the edgy soundtrack to the award-winning film of the same name by her husband Patrick Bokanowski.

Curran, Alvin: The Works [VINYL]

Alvin Curran's famous 1980 composition combines piano, voice, a Serge modular synthesizer, and tape recordings, particularly of his 14 year old dachshund Caspar "singing", recorded after meeting a female dog in heat earlier in the day, a peculiar love song based around a 5-note motive played on the piano, increasingly frenzied and affected by the Serge synth.

Known for her chamber and piano works, Canadian composer and widow of Morton Feldman presents five beautiful chamber works performed by the trio of George Barton on percussion, Siwan Rhys on piano and Mira Benjamin on violin, introspective and contemplative pieces of rich color & reflection that reveal the gravity between sound and silence.

Two works from Canadian composer Linda Catlin Smith and performed by cellist Anton Lukoszevieze and pianist Kerry Yong: "Through the Low Hills" a piece for constrained variations like an object viewed from different angles as it is turned over; and "Ballad" a major work intended for performance that unfolds slowly, allowing for delicate melodic interaction.
