Guitarist-composer Fredrik Rasten joins the Berlin quartet Asterales to explore slowly shifting just-intonation harmonies in four movements where quarter-tone bass flute, synthesizer, double bass, and fretless electric guitar weave sustained microtonal textures into a resonant, deeply attentive study of modulation, timbre, and collective harmonic precision.

Exploring the ethereal resonance of chant through intimate compositions for solo to quartet voice and bass flute, Laura Steenberge draws on the mysticism of medieval music, performed by Rebecca Lane, Catherine Lamb, Julia Holter, Yannick Guédon, and Evelyn Saylor in nuanced layers that reveal harmonic shadows, breath-bound relationships, and otherworldly sonic artifacts.

Two works written for a group of Australian performers living in Berlin--Jon Heilbron, Rebecca Lane, Jess Aszodi & Sam Dunscombe--by Australian composer and pianist Anthony Pateras, A Dread Of Voids developed for a residency at the Archipel Festival in Geneva after enduring a pandemic quarantine; and Patterned Language, composed for the Astra Chamber Music Society.

Two hauntingly beautiful works in microtonal composer and violist Catherine Lamb's "Prisma Interius" series, the first a duo with violinist Johnny Change and Xavier Lopez on the "secondary rainbow synthesizer", which channels the sound outside of the performance space as a generator of ambient sound; then a sextet of strings and winds with two secondary rainbow synthesizers.

The third in a series of pieces inspired by ideas in the history of music theory, from composer Marc Sabat and inspired by Renaissance Italian Composer/Theorist Gioseffo Zarlino, performed in a 9-piece ensemble that cycles through voices, strings, harp, and flute, with instruments entering cycles at midpoints of prior loops to create weaving and graceful intersections.

Composer Eva-Maria Houben in a collaborative work with bass flutist Rebecca Lane and bass clarinetist Samuel Dunscomb, the composer performing on piano and orgran, for two renderings of "Observing Objects", a patient work of long notes and tones interspersed with silence, lower registers in the winds balanced by the piano or organ's upper register.
