Artist Biographies

"Lorena Izquierdo is a Spanish performance artist, vocalist and poet. She performed in festivals such as the Festival de Arte Sonoro y Musica Electroacústica, Spain or NIPAF, Nippon International Performance Art Festival, Japan. Besides holding a bachelor's degree in philosophy and history of art, she is trained in butoh dance, and has learned cello, photography and performance art.

She works in solos, in duos or as part of collectives. In addition, she theoretically explores experimental art. Collaboration with musicians in various formations has become an important aspect of her activity in recent years. This includes projects with Axel Dörner, Samuel Hall, Aziz Lewandowski, Mari Takahashi and Eric Bauer."

"Kris Kuldkepp is a Hamburg based free improviser on double bass and live-electronics, feminist performer and artist. She is currently completing her doctoral studies at the Hamburg University of Applied Science, where she researches spatial sound, free improvised music and feminism. Kris has performed at the international festivals such as LjudOLjud in Stockholm, Tallinn Music Week, St. Petersburg New Music Festival reMusic, QQ/Viljandi Art Festival, Estonian Music Days and Blurred Edges Festival in Hamburg and played in different constellations in Europe and South-America. She is also part of a free improvisation quartet 'double bird' that recently released an album 'favourite galaxy' and active with a quartet EMN concentrating on performing graphical scores and performative compositions."

"Hamburg based trombonist, composer and sound artist Felix Mayer dedicates himself to experimental music in its various forms: playing in bands, collectives and ad-hoc groups, realizing video scores and improvisation concepts with multichannel fixed media and sound installations. Additionally, working in interdisciplinary contexts with dance, theater and performance as well as organizing the concert series 'sonopol'. Recent projects include Duo's with trumpeter Birgit Ulher, pianist Hans Schüttler, 'EMN' - a composer-performer ensemble focusing on graphic scores, text and game pieces with Kris Kuldkepp, Heiner Metzger and Christoph Funabashi, as well as an interdisciplinary performance project, 'Everybody Birthdays' which works on the edges of improvised music, performance and dance. Concerts amongst others with Axel Dörner, Birgit Ulher, Ignaz Schick, Simon Rose, Michael Thieke, Simone Weißenfels, Käthe Kruse ('Die tödliche Doris'), Ingo Reulecke, Rafael Toral and Graham Dunning."
