Acid Mothers Temple 's Nam Myo Ho Ren Ge Kyo was first released on CD only in 2007 by Ace Fu Records and now re-mastered by John Rivers at Woodbine Street Studio especially for vinyl. "Nam Myo Ho Ren Ge Kyo" is a phrase which was expounded by a 13th century Japanese Buddhist monk called Nichiren. Kawabata is chiefly famous for his leadership of Acid Mothers Temple and its variants; however, he has also played in many other bands since the start of his career in the late 1970s. Some of these bands are: Baroque Bordello; Toho Sara; Erochika; Tsurubami; Musica Transonic; Mainliner; Mothers of Invasion; Nishinihon; Floating Flower."
