A subset of the UK saxophone heavy band crossing composition with improvisation, The Remote Viewers is led by David Petts, for two decades releasing albums in a variety of configurations. Here the band is presented as a trio with Adrian Northover on alto sax, David Petts on tenor sax, and John Edwards on acoustic bass. This trio is also a working configuration, having performed live material from previous albums, and now highlighted in their own album. 15 new compositions grace the album, 10 penned by Petts and 5 collective improvisations from the trio. A mix of ferocious timbre, impressive synchronized playing, and exciting interaction, having worked together over several albums the interplay is extraordinarily precise and anticipatory, with a solid understanding and rendering of Pett's approach to composition.
