Artist Biographies
• Show Bio for David Grollman "David Grollman is a percussionist from NYC who performs freely improvised music. He performs in art galleries, tiki bars, and venues of curious ambience made more curious by his mongrel sounds. David bows, scrapes, blows, slaps, rubs, caresses, abuses, and generally tests the limits of his instrument. Anything is game. Anything may be a participant if the musical conversation calls for it. Artist, instrument, audience, and environment become ambiguous terms, conspiring in a theatrical exploration of chance dynamics and serendipitous exchanges." ^ Hide Bio for David Grollman • Show Bio for Natalia Steinbach "Violinist, violin/viola instructor, vocalist, and composer, Natalia Steinbach began her violin studies at the age of two under the tutelage of Ronald Mutchnik in Ellicott City, Maryland. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree majoring in violin performance from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Gregory Fulkerson. Natalia also studied with Airi Yoshioka at University of Maryland Baltimore County. Natalia has received many awards including the Maryland Distinguished Scholar Award and is a member of the National Music Honors Society. She has also performed in many prestigious halls throughout the country including The Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, and Severance Hall. After graduating from Oberlin, Ms. Steinbach went on to embrace a large variety of musical genres through performing, improvising, teaching, recording, and composition. She also embraced her love of singing with her debut as the lead vocalist in the hard rock band, Snake Charmer. She is passionate about creating and performing new and original music. Through composition, Natalia strives to bring classical, contemporary, and experimental music styles together, to form a new and unique genre, that appeals to many types of listeners and desegregates the musical world.
