A large Lisboa ensemble presenting a collective improvisation titled after a painting by Yves Klein. The work is subtle, following the lowercase/onkyo approach using extended and unusual techniques on each player's instruments. The work, titled simply "Ant1", mysteriously develops at an even pace over 44 minutes, avoiding the single build, well & ebb while holding the listener with dynamic and natural changes in pacing and complexity. This is a beautiful example of communal playing allowing textures and unique voices to surface and submerge, where no voice subsumes the other, but work together to create a unique and intriguing tapestry of sound.
