Performing on viola, violin and a stroh (a string instrument mechanically amplified by a metal resonator and horn attached to its body) the NY duo of Joanna Mattrey and Gabby Fluke-Mogul present eight dialogs of ominous and prophetic divination, titles including "The Vision", "The Potion" or "The Omen", as they weave and tear at their strings in startling and impressive ways.

Following the visual scores of multi-disciplinary artist Tina Douglas, pianist Magda Mayas uses objects and preparations on piano, clavinet & rhodes keyboards to expand on Douglas' sculptural and tactile scores, exposing the fragility or imperfections in each, allowing one melody, chord or noise to become the focus of Maya's aural rendering and interpretations.

Using simple motives to guide remarkably complex and lyric collective improvisations clearly in the jazz tradition, the Portuguese quartet of João Mortágua on alto & soprano saxophones, Carlos Azevedo on piano, Miguel Angelo on double bass and Mário Costa on drums approach their music with concise expression and a clear exuberance for the music they create.

Beautifully flowing acoustic avant folk under a diverse set of influences from the Dublin five-piece band led by acoustic and electric guitarist Aonghus McEvoy, with George Brennan on electronics, David Lacey on drums, Sean Maynard Smith on upright bass and Ailbhe Nic Oireachtaigh on viola, evolving their tracks from pastoral to edgy agitation or ecstatic drone.

Part of cellist Ishmael Ali's Chi Away Project recording small ensembles of new collaborations between Chicago musicians of diverse backgrounds, this live recording of energetic and unique free jazz and ea-improv was captured at Marmalade in 2021, bringing together Ali, drummer Bill Harris, saxophonist & flutist Wills McKenna and sound artist Normal W. Long.
